2025's Cromwell Cup was one of the poorest run regattas I've ever participated in. You have people coming from all over New England and you don't announce the time trial schedule until Friday-ish for a Sunday race?! I only live an hour away and I still had to wake up at 3:30am to get there. Those that live further had very little time to book accommodations or make other plans, (and still had to pay if they scratched). The officials also mixed up bow numbers and teams on at least one event. For quite some time no one knew who was racing the final in this particular event. One team thought they got 6th so they derigged and left, but they ended up being 3rd and eligible for the final, but they were long gone. Nobody is perfect and mistakes happen but I expect better from such an established boathouse.

Our teen is a rower with the RBC Junior's Program. We are about to sign up for our second on-water season with the club. Soup to nuts an outstanding experience. Excellent team culture. Empowering and knowledgeable coaching. An inclusive boathouse across all rowers - juniors to elite. RBC will forever be his home on the Charles and I can see why. It has a scrappy volunteer run feel to the place because it is. It is also a place that deeply cares about growing and rowing as long as one can as community. Go Stripes.

I came here during the open house. Mike Showed me around the club, and showed me how to row on the rowing machine and the rowing setup with oars. He explained everything pretty well and answered all my questions about rowing and the club. It’s mainly for experienced. Beginners can check out CRI for their Learn to Row program.

Riverside is a volunteer led and managed boat club, founded in 1869. I have been a member, on and off, for over 25 years. We have a great fleet of both sweep and sculling boats, an historic boathouse on the Charles River, and a membership that ranges in age from teens to 80’s, including recreational rowers, local rowing talent, and aspiring Olympians. Go Stripes.
