The roses are very healthy and well taken care of. Little early for the bloom but I can tell they gonna be really pretty. The cactus garden is amazing. So many bizarre varieties.

Nice place. Anything wheeled is not allowed here. Simple creativity to lock up a bike or scooter. List of rose bushes. Looks like every breed you can think of. Great for anyone wanting to see every breed up close. Small cactus trail nearby. Looks like the homeless party on the cactus trail at night.

Late April is an amazing time to visit the rose garden. I have lived here for many years and never visited during this time. Seeing them all fully bloomed in all their glory was awe inspiring. So many different types. Thankful for the volunteers that help make this possible.

Located across of the San Diego Zoo, short 10 min walk from edge of Balboa Park if starting from the water fountain near Fleet Science Center Museum. Beautiful rose garden, maybe 1000 healthy bushes just starting to bloom in early April. Can see the yellow wildflowers in the distance from the rose garden. It was a beautiful warm day in early April with approximately only 10% or less of the roses were in bloom. Many new buds can be seen, some roses were very fragrant and many were not fragrant as well. I enjoyed walking around the well kept garden. Many people were out exploring the garden despite the roses haven't really fully flowered. Still a nice stroll around the garden, can easily finish in 30 min of easy and slow exploration. Located very close to a fast moving traffic of cars. Also saw a giant intertwining cactus which must have been quite old.
