Safeway

Why Safeway is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family
Safeway is a prominent American supermarket chain headquartered in Pleasanton, California, with a rich history dating back to 1915 when it was founded by Marion Barton Skaggs in Idaho. The chain is known for offering a wide range of grocery items, fresh produce, bakery products, delicatessen, floral arrangements, pharmacy services, and even Starbucks coffee shops and fuel centers within some store locations. With over 900 stores primarily located in the Western United States and select areas along the Mid-Atlantic Eastern Seaboard, Safeway provides a comprehensive shopping experience that caters to everyday needs as well as specialty product demands. Its legacy emphasizes a business philosophy focused on high sales volume with low profit margins, a concept introduced by the original founder and still practiced today. The supermarket is a subsidiary of Albertsons since 2015, continuing to expand its grocery delivery and curbside pickup offerings for customer convenience. Safeway stores serve as convenient gathering places for friends and families due to their diverse departments, fresh and quality products, and friendly service. Whether customers are shopping for weekly groceries, picking up a fresh bouquet, or grabbing a coffee, Safeway’s consistent commitment to customer satisfaction and variety makes it a popular meeting spot and shopping destination.

The ice cream is now locked up 🙄. After pushing the button without response, I finally found someone who told me “ oh yeah, our radio system is broken”. Maybe put up a sign? But seriously, if you don’t want to sell me groceries, fine. I can go elsewhere.

Staff allow the public to steal with no care in the world. I was told by an employee that the customers that come in at 6 am are all stealing and no one cares because they don't make enough money. Just walked out after spending 300 bucks to see a manager telling a homeless man, "Hey Ryan, put it back". There was no energy that lead me to believe that she even cared. I truly think it was only because I was watching and she felt that was the least she could do. I seriously think I should just go in next week and take my weekly groceries too. It's a real shame that we all have to pay and others get away with not having to. Let's take back our stores and take some pride in our work. We all deserve to be on equal playing fields. Oh by the way, bakery lady was smoking a cigarette when I arrived. Saw her working while I went down the isle and by the tine I was putting my groceries in the car, she was smoking again. IS THERE A MANAGER AT THIS LOCATION OR JUST SOMEONE THAT HAS THE TITLE OF A MANAGER. I'LL BE WATCHING FOR IMPROVEMENTS AND POSTING MORE AS I SEE IT. WE NOT YOU BUT ALL OF US CAN DO BETTER.

Huge parking lot. This Safeway also has a petrol station. Good food selection. In the past I read about this location having huge issues from houseless individuals ( tents and rvs on side of store ) stealing and damaging cars etc... . I can say that I think these issues are a thing of the past because during my last 3 visits I didn't see any evidence of any problems.

5 stars only when I use the app and buy from deals section. I feel without it's 2 stars without because of some of the prices and how I get treated almost every time. I use the app and finish my grocery list off after going to 1 or 2 other places first. Plus they treat me like im gonna steal and im spending a $100 or more no backpack or bag. Clean dressed nice and sober and I have never had anissue with stealing not even close. My attendance after the initial bad treatment dropped about 90%.
