This Safeway is ran like some prison yard with a high security presence. They have almost only self checkouts so the good days of interacting with people who know about food and products you may have a question about, or you may want to talk about the day with, are gone. I remember when you could enter and exit from the NW of the building, but now Safeway is basically admitting it is unsafe. They don't trust their patrons anymore. Let's talk about the prices. I used to go there for savings vs. places like QFC or Whole Foods, but now their prices are even higher than both for things like ice cream or their oatmeal raisin cookies. I am happy they at least still have member discounts on items, but the price is so high it is better to purchase somewhere else like the Grocery Outlet. I save a ton of money there not here. What happened to customer service? Not enough service professionals to provide it. If grocery stores don't trust the people spending their money in their stores then why spend it there? If prices are going to continue to be higher than necessary then I say go somewhere else. The stores want to combine so they can control prices without competition. We can't allow this, they don't care enough about their customers for us to let them have complete control over the price of food. Viva la competitive markets. So yes 3 stars.

Another terrible grocery store south of Madison. Horribly overpriced stuff, deli and bakery have totally slid down in quality and prices have gone up. Produce section pretty underwhelming in terms of variety. Haven’t poked around in meat section too much, home goods section pretty sad and sparse. Plus they don’t have any shopping baskets! They have security there all the time, but close the alternate entrances. Cans of soup are like $5, are you kidding me? Albertsons CEO makes $15+ MILLION dollars. Get out of here. At least there is a BECU atm in there and the customer service folks are nice. There’s also no service in this store which defeats the point of any “digital coupons” yes they have a wifi network but it crawls at a snail’s pace. It’s insane that PCC is the best grocery store around this area even when it’s overpriced and doesn’t have much variety. You’re better off going to Grocery Outlet.

The staff are always friendly, but that's the only thing going for it. This Safeway is so hostile towards people shopping at it. They recently took shopping baskets away, and now they're locking the ice cream (which costs more than it does at PCC 🤯) up.

Could I be informed if this store puts dial gold bar soap back on its shelves? I'm allergic to other soaps and I would like to get clean in a shower. It was the main reason I went shopping.

1. Stop letting people bring dogs into the store. This is a grocery store, not a dog park. 2. Bring back the baskets. It’s incredibly annoying needing to use a cart when I only need a handful of items. 3. Stop rearranging the store every year. It’s next to impossible to find stuff after the most recent rearrangement. 4. More security. There’s always sketchy individuals in front of the store at all hours of the day and night. They need to go somewhere else.
