Friendly people. I am used to online sessions, so in-person has been a way to break out of my comfort zone. Regulars there are the most talkative. It can seem like people are into their clicks, but remember, it takes courage to start conversations. Everyone there is probably just as hesitant to speak as much as you, so try to relax. There are always different people who show up. Integrating into the community is not difficult. Everyone there is respectful of your boundaries. I think the consensus is about 3 months of the groups before making a final decision. Then, if you really like it, they have higher levels of practice to aim for.

What a wonderful and welcoming place near the heart of downtown. I never would have known of it's existence, if not for an exstatic dance party that was heppening there. Wheelchair friendly .

The Shambala center has been an invaluable resource for learning about the workings of my mind and gaining the tools and skill to manage stress and move through life with a little more grace. The community is warm and welcoming. The center has become a bit of a second home where I know I can always find a bit of peace.

Wouldn’t trust Shambalha as far as I could throw them! Any “meditation” studio or self-proclaimed temple that would host wild parties after closing hours with incredibly loud DJing, in my opinion, shouldn’t be teaching patrons how to relax. Doesn’t sound so peaceful now, does it? I question the judgement of any business owner who would allow their children or relatives to come into their space and be so obnoxious and disruptive to other residents in 1017 West Washington. If you can’t respect your neighbors, you certainly shouldn’t be preaching love and joy. There are plenty of other ethical places to go in west loop to expand your practice. Please don’t give them the satisfaction of neighborly kindness when they can’t do the same in return.

Ecstatic Dance events are amazing. Happy and trusting people and environment, good music that does not blast your ears, clean and mindfully decorated spaces.
