While I lived in LA in 2015, I sought after a martial arts school that embodied the essence of Wushu- a form I had never studied before. I wanted a school that was authentic with a strong connection to the source (as much as possible without being able to travel to China). The Shaolin Wushu Center was just that! I had not studied the Arts in years and was a bit rusty and stiff. All of the teachers were respectful, patient, and encouraging throughout the entire process of returning back better shape and flexibility. If you have never studied or want to get back to it, this is the place. You're not pressured by the other students either. Everyone learns from and encourages everyone. Although I have not been in a while from relocating back to the East Coast, I consider TSWC my home for study and recommend it to anyone that wants to study on any level!

It’s been several years since I attended classes here, but I miss the whole experience! I still keep in touch with the class, there is such a family-like atmosphere. Sifu Hu is a great athlete and teacher and very patient with adult and child students. I recently watched a tournament and all the participants did so well! I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in performance martial arts!

Master Hu is patient, experienced, and knowledgeable. He was in a few Kungfu movies and was the Wushu champ of China for a few years. Check a class out once, and you'll see. It's exactly what you are looking for.

I've been coming here for 2 months now and Sifu Hu is so knowledgable and passionate about what he does that it's infectious! Classes are comprised of students of varying belt levels and he is able to cater to each person's experience level and gives you exposure to all the different weapon forms out there too from swords, fans, spears, and staff! I was able to learn the 3 section staff form in 2 months!

Love Master Hu - he teaches all levels of wushu classes (his wife teaches tai chi which I’ve also heard is great) so you’ll be learning from the master on day 1: long fist, golden fist, animal forms, weapons. You can look up Hu Jian Qiang (or Hu Jianqiang) for videos of his style of martial arts or watch him in movies like Kids from Shaolin with Jet Li
