Showroom Food Hall is a hidden gem in the South Loop. Stopped by for lunch and tried the Holy Bologna sandwich from Argosy Street Tacos—smoked truffle bologna with American cheese, special sauce, shredded lettuce, and red onion on a brioche roll. It was juicy and packed with flavor. Also grabbed a slice of pepperoni pizza from Winged Warrior—crispy crust with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. Wash it down with a cold beer from Nomad Beer & Wine. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the staff is friendly. Definitely coming back to try more from their diverse menu.

Steak tacos were delicious! Rice and beans were well flavored with generous portions.

I was visiting for a conference at the hotel with thousands of attendees and few places to eat. This food court was quite understaffed for the number of people trying to get food. One place wasn’t even open. The food was ok. I tried the tacos from the “Argosy” retro airstream turned into a food truck and they were good though overpriced. The pizza corner was also overpriced with not great quality pizza. Warning if you have a conference here: pack a lunch.

Stopped by Showroom Food Hall inside the Marriott Marquis after a long day at McCormick Place. The setup is pretty slick, with different spots like Argosy Street Tacos and Winged Warrior Pizza. I grabbed a couple of tacos from Argosy—al pastor and carne asada—and a slice of margherita from Winged Warrior. The tacos were solid, especially the al pastor with that sweet and savory kick. The pizza was decent, though nothing to write home about. Spent around $25 total, which ain't too bad for hotel eats. The vibe was chill, and it's super convenient if you're staying nearby or hitting up the convention center.

I like the idea of this area, and the different food stations and themes are pretty fun to look at. However the quality of the food is pretty terrible and the prices are just as bad. I could forgive high costs if the food was good, and I could forgive bland and boring food if the price was low. But this was neither. Tried both the taco booth and the pizza both. Neither tasted like anything special. $18 for a single slice of pizza should also be a crime.
