I went one the downtown LA food tour with Sidewalk Food Tours and really enjoyed it. If you’re in downtown LA and love food, this is a highly recommendation from me. You learn a lot about the history of downtown LA while sampling five different dishes in the area. All the food was great, and if I had more time in LA I would have definitely gone back to some of those places for more. Jean Michel was our guide and he was super personable and friendly and had a great knowledge of the area. He was a blast to get to know and learn about the area from. One small note for all those with peanut (legume) allergies like myself who go on this tour. Despite the guide being aware of my allergy, I ate a chicken taco at a stop along the tour that was cooked in a mole sauce that had peanuts in it (I didn’t realize this until after the tour when I started feeling unwell). So, just be aware of this if you go on the tour and stop at Guisados for tacos, definitely avoid tacos with the mole sauce.

Excellent food tour and I have done quite a few. Nice balance of walking, history and downtown LA food. Portions were large, food choices were all delicious. Scarlett was an excellent, informed and kind guide. Great experience!
