This used to be a very warm and welcoming space. There is new management, and they seem rude, exclusionary and downright mean (they literally kicked out a pinnacle of the building's management and history, and called the police on a peace loving and really, truly, beautiful person when he came to take his personal belongings and even plants that had belonged to his deceased wife). The former manager is one of the most lovely, beautiful humans. His family was involved in the building back to his grandparents, who were members of the synagogue that occupied the space before it became a community center. The new management seems extremely capitalistic. The building itself has beautiful features. However, if I had to choose a space to hold an event or rent space, this would no longer be it. It's so sad. Community centers should center around community, not capitalism. I hope they recognize they need to change.

Nice space, but other patrons are rude. I’ve been coming here every week on Wednesday and recently found the door locked. I ring the doorbell, see people inside, but no one lets me in. One time I was outside for 10 minutes until someone else (a white man) came and rang the bell and they opened the door for him. Make of that what you will.
