I was hoping to order two large pizzas one cheese and one pepperoni but the staff kindly let us know they only had slices left since they were about to close. To my surprise, the owner, Sal, overheard our conversation and came out personally to say, “I’ll make them.” That meant so much to me he absolutely didn’t have to do that, but he did, and with such kindness. Sal is truly a great guy, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting. It gave me a nostalgic feeling like being back home in upstate New York as a kid. My calzone was cold. not room temp, literally cold. The cheese was only melted in the ends, the middle still had full pieces of unmelted, cold cheese. The middle was so cold it made me wonder if the whole thing had been frozen before it was put in the oven. Edit: I returned and gave them a second chance as requested, and my new rating denotes the improvement. I got Chicken Parm (served with pasta and garlic knots, photo included). All of it was well-cooked and delicious. Could have done without the speech to return poor food instead of leaving a poor review. Well, nothing's perfect, myself included.
