Why Smith's Ballpark is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family
Smith's Ballpark in Salt Lake City has been a beloved community and sports venue, historically home to the Salt Lake Bees minor league baseball team. For over 30 years, it has offered a picturesque ballpark experience surrounded by an enthusiastic local fanbase. The ballpark blends tradition with a friendly, inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal place to meet up with friends for an exciting and social outing. Fans enjoy a variety of elevated game-day favorites such as the Rodeo Burger, All-Star Dog, scratch-made hummus nachos, locally sourced brats, and dippable donuts, elevating the traditional ballpark food experience. A frictionless market powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology adds a modern convenience for visitors. However, with the Salt Lake Bees relocating to a new stadium for the 2025 season, Smith's Ballpark has entered a new chapter. The City of Salt Lake is leading a thoughtful community-driven redevelopment effort called Ballpark NEXT, aiming to repurpose the 13.5-acre site into a vibrant mixed-use space. This includes preserving part of the ballpark as a community venue and sports hub, alongside new housing, business spaces, open recreational areas, and parking. This redevelopment balances respect for the site's sports heritage with the future needs of the neighborhood, making Smith's Ballpark a continually important community asset and gathering place for years to come.

It’s a fine stadium. The food lines are always long and they don’t love very fast. They do have a cute train that’s free for kids.

Went to a Sunday afternoon game in April. The weather was perfect. We had seats in row 5, so we were close to the field on the 1st base side. The first base side is the home team side. I’d recommend sitting on that side, as you get shade from the sun later in the game depending on how close you are to the field. Parking was $15. We purchased parking online at the same time we purchased tickets. All tickets are digital, so you will need an app on your phone to store your tickets. We used the Ticketmaster app. You just bring up your tickets on your phone through the app and hold your phone up to a scanner held by someone at the entrance gate to get in. It was fun at this ballpark. They have all sorts of things going on in between innings to keep you entertained. The only sad thing is that the Salt Lake Bees are moving out of this ballpark soon. I read that they might be gone after this season ends. They’re moving south to Daybreak into a new ballpark at some point.

I had a blast my first time here. Took my family to our first Bee's game. We sat in the GA lawn seats. Great if you have kids so they can run around and have fun while you watch the game. Food and Drink prices are all reasonable. Went on "Thirsty Thursday" all beers are $3. Good deal. Do plan on going back to see another game.

Looking for a fun summer activity that will be a crowd pleaser for everyone? If so, don’t wait any longer grab some tickets and come out and support the Bee’s. I’ve been coming to these games for as long as I can remember and they never disappoint. The games are action packed with fans cheering and entertainment for everyone.

Great place to see a game. Reasonably priced tickets and refreshments. Family friendly. Lots of parking in the area for free or $10-$25 parking lots. We had a great time. I highly recommend a Bees Game.
