I have not had any issues with referees and have really enjoyed the competitive but safe playing style. SOP FC is one of the most fun leagues I've ever played in. It's as competitive or friendly as you'd like it to be. Promotion and relegation formats make sense, management is helpful with issues and friendly, games are well organized, and I had the opportunity to even appear on a documentary that was shot on one of the games. Their pickup games are also very well run and worth the money. They also do a lot of social activities to meet people (can't wait for the Christmas party). Could not recommend this league more to anyone else.
