The new manager at redwood road is awful. Honestly I don’t know who in there right mind would make her a manager. She was completely rude to my co worker and I. Snapped us like we were dogs trying to take our order and when I had a simple question about the soup she would just look at me like I was stupid. We have been coming in to soup forever and we have never had bad service from the girls working there. Bring back the your old crew! They are why we would even go in there for lunch, those ladies were always sweet, funny, and organized and now this place seems to just be going down hill.

I’ve been coming to The Soup Kitchen for well over 6 months now, it’s super close to my job, has some of the best chicken noodle soup I’ve ever had in my LIFE. The sandwiches are good! It’s all honest food, definitely Mom and Pop shop vibes and it feels good supporting locally. The staff there is normally pretty friendly, there’s an older lady who is normally making the food or working the register, bless her heart she’s the sweetest and has never let me down or made me feel anything but welcome. Last Friday, April 12th, 2025 around 11:50 I had come in to pick up an online order like I’d done so many different times before but this time it was for my whole team at work, thus it needed to be written off as a business expense. I realized after I had picked up the food I did not get an itemized receipt with the total on it. I drove back during my 30 minute lunch break to hopefully just grab a quick receipt. I patiently waited in the long line only to be greeted by a slightly annoyed middle aged woman, who, once I had asked for what I needed (an itemized receipt), said she couldn’t do that for me, the older woman had come to show her how it was done, from there it escalated very quickly, The middle aged woman immediately began saying that she would be written up because of me because her till would be off ??? I tried to apologize and told her maybe their policy should be changed because I’ve never heard of a situation like this having worked in food service and customer service in general for years. She was severely unprofessional and had a rude tone, she asked me to “step out of line so she could help everyone else who only had a 30 min lunch” to which I responded I only had a 30 min lunch and had just spent over 20 minutes there dealing with her sour attitude for something that was a very simple ask. She talked down to me and when I questioned why she was being so rude she replied with “I don’t understand what you’re not getting”. She also showed me the wrong order and tried to tell me it was mine and then when she finally handed me my the receipt it was in the pettiest way possible. I have been scorned and my feelings deeply hurt. I’m not sure what that lady was going through but as a loyal customer who has never done anything but spoken highly of this establishment, I can say I will not be returning for a long while.

2022 First-timer ... An holycow so much food!!! I was hungry that's why I got chicken salad sandwich and 8oz cup chicken noodle soup. Well i got the sandwich which was so delicious I wasn't expecting lettuce and tomato on it. Plus the chicken noodle soup they gave a soup should have a spork (spoon and fork) that itself was filling enough then on top of it they give a roll and crackers. 2022 2nd time going I got the California Chicken sandwich... OMG the seasoning was spot on HAIL TO THE CHEF!!! It has a Fried Chicken Breast with lettuce & tomato and mayo. Note to self no mayo it was sliding all over the place kinda comical but still delicious!!! 2023 3rd time; I got the Beef & Cheese sandwich with Vegetable Beef. Remember WHERE'S THE BEEF on that sandwich. This time I remembered no Mayo but also no tomato just didn't want the sandwich to slide around OMG so much beef. Mmmm! Oh and when I read an item that says Vegetable being first I think that there would be more veggies and there definitely was plus a good helping of beef. 2023 4th time; WELL I FOUND OUT TODAY!!! That when you go to Soup Kitchen you get breadsticks, never knew. Now I want to eat at the place. Plus if you don't choose a bread type on Door Dash you get the bread type that's intended for that sandwich. 2024 I got SKS with cup chicken noodle soup. Not so much meat, one piece of turkey and two half strips of bacon. Lettuce is browning. Chicken noodle soup should be called noodle soup with carrots. When I went to pay the machine was set for 35% or 50% tip I didn't put tip on card and gave $. But for $11 meal and they ask for $3.85 to 5.50 for tip. Not sure if I will go back.

I feel bad that I ate the sandwich before taking a picture but it was that good!!! I always judge Reuben sandwiches when they are available at a place and this one did not disappoint in the slightest! Everything was perfectly combined together and was the epitome of a Reuben. The split pea soup with ham was out of this world and I would order it again. I could pick out all of the flavors and each one had such depth to it. I would eat that again in a heartbeat. The bread sticks were also amazing! I am not sure what they put on top of it but holy manna is it full of flavor. If you go for nothing more than that soup and the bread sticks, you will not be disappointed!

They were out of bread sticks and the soup was only warm. Best hot ham and cheese around!! Felt slightly over priced.
