One of the best places I’ve ever played sand volleyball. There’s a great mix of skill levels, and you can challenge anyone you want. I usually played with my friends in a weekly organized game, but one time it was just me and a skilled friend visiting from Washington, DC. We challenged some of the top players there. We didn’t win — but the winners were graceful and classy, which honestly felt so different from how things often went down back in DC. It was a refreshing reminder of the contrast between San Diego and DC culture. Depending on the day, parking can be a little tight, so you might have to park a bit up Mission Blvd. But honestly, it’s hard to complain when your walk to the court includes ocean breezes and the sound of waves on the boardwalk.

Nice courts. Next to basketball courts too. A few firepits. Parking lot closes at 10pm and they will lock the gate with your car inside so make sure to park outside of the gate if you're staying later or be prepared to drive across the sand.
