From flights and hotels to trip insurance and every question I had, their team made the entire process easy. The 13-day voyage aboard the MV Ortelius was the trip of a lifetime. Crossing the Drake Passage, watching the sun rise over the Antarctic Peninsula, cruising through massive icebergs, and seeing penguins, whales, and seals in their natural habitat was truly beyond words. We also visited old historical research stations and did the polar plunge. The ship’s guides were incredibly knowledgeable, and the food and service onboard were great. Choosing a smaller ship meant I could join every excursion, which is something I understand is not always possible with larger vessels. If Antarctica is on your bucket list, I highly recommend Southern Explorations. They made my dream trip an unforgettable reality.
