Great experience overall. Lots of unique fair food to try. Food is pretty pricey considering the portions. Rodeo was fun to watch. Be prepared to struggle to find parking. Also be prepared for large crowds.

State Fair of Texas | Dallas, TX We came for the food… and ended up time-traveling. There’s something about the State Fair of Texas that hits you right in the childhood—in the best way. From the moment you walk through those gates, it’s fried smells, bright lights, and a full-body sense of heck yes. We ate our weight in corny dogs, deep-fried dreams, and things on sticks we didn’t even know we needed. No regrets. We walked around like wide-eyed kids, hitting the rides, dancing through the exhibits, and sampling everything at the booths like we were on a mission from the foodie gods. The live music? A whole vibe. Whether it was a cover band or a country singer I’d never heard of before, every stage was a party waiting to happen. The energy is magic. It’s chaotic, loud, nostalgic, and a little dusty—but in the way that makes you forget your phone and just live. If you’ve never been, go. If you’ve been before, go again. There’s nothing like it, and honestly? I already can’t wait for next year.

Once a year the State Fair of Texas rolls around and it is time to go have some fun. We know that a Fletcher's Corny Dog is mandatory. With so much other good stuff to eat it is impossible to sample it all. I like to walk the midway and ride the big Ferris Wheel in between a beer and bite of something tasty. When it gets too hot make way towards the automobile area and take advantage of the air conditioning. It won't be long and it'll be Fair time again!

Just got back from my 2nd year in a row of going to the Texas State Fair! Amazing both times! There is SO much to see and do! You can easily spend 2 full days here and still not do and see everything! I LOVE all of the animals, the fair food items are unbelievable!! Get the famous Fletcher "corny dog", try the corn in a cup, and you have to get a funnel cake fully loaded with some toppings! Discounts available on different days, Senior and military discounted tickets, and the DART public transportation offers a discount code too! Soooo much fun! Wear comfortable shoes! Take the DART rail to get there!
