1. Is SUP yoga hard? No! The paddle board is so wide and stable, even if you’re a novice yogi, you’ll be able to do many—if not most—of the poses Dana guides you through. 2. Will someone take photos for me? Yup—so many, you won’t even believe it. Dana is truly your own personal paparazzi on the water and is a pro at capturing every beautiful pose and moment of her class for each student. 3. Is SUP yoga safe? Unbelievably so. Dana teaches you how to paddle and anchor down on shore. She is there watching every student, cheering them on. No person is left behind. There is a life jacket on the board, the anchor is very stable, and I honestly think you’ll have to try to fall off before you fall off (or you try a pose that is completely outside of your capabilities. Know your limits, and you won’t fall into the water). I can’t recommend Dana’s classes enough. I’ve recently gotten into Aerial Silks and I can’t say which is more fun or more liberating, but I will say that doing yoga ON water is pretty much the most unbeatable experience I’ve ever had. What are you waiting for??

A perfect activity combining two of my favorite things! I’ve been practicing yoga for over 8 years and recently tried stand up paddle-boarding when I moved to San Diego two years ago. When I saw the combination of yoga and SUP, I knew I had to check it out. I found Sunchaser through a yoga friend and have already been twice! Full disclosure — I was able to stay dry on the first attempt, but took a plunge on the second time. The water was chilly, but the sun helped warm and dry me off in order to enjoy and “get back on the horse/board” for the rest of the session. Dana, Meredith and Nika are all very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. If it is your first time, they provide great instructions on getting used to the board and appropriate form before getting the into yoga movement. The launch location is at a perfect point on Mission Bay because it provides a nice short paddle to where you anchor for yoga. Pricing is very reasonable and you can even skip the yoga and just rent SUP for an hour or two. That is really all the time you need to paddle — don’t get caught up in the 4 hour rental packages elsewhere on the bay. Excited to continue incorporating SUP yoga into my regular routine.

Literally the funnest thing you can do in San Diego. I love that SunChaser offers a wide variety on the paddle board. From yoga to concerts on the bay. Laurel is the best guide, making sure you know exactly what you’re doing before you even get on the board. Insuring you feel safe and that you have the best time! Can’t wait to see you out on the water!

We had a big group of girls and Nika was so patient at helping us all anchor in to start class! The clouds were out keeping us cool and the sun came out just at the end which was perfect! Such a fun and unique experience.

Found these guys amid the pandemic. I moved my Saturday morning yoga practice to the bay with Meredith. It has definitely elevated my regular yoga practice plus the classes are 90 minutes. I will continue to come out! Great equipment and amazing teachers. And if you just want to rent a SUP they do that too and it's very reasonable. Probably the best prices around and Mission Bay is the perfect spot for beginners or advanced. For you tourists- local gem!! Check them out.
