I love Tahona Bar! Their food and cocktails are so unique and they use such high-quality ingredients. I'm obsessed with their corn croquettes. They also do group events--- I had my wedding welcome party/post-rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing! They were willing to customize our menu to our preferences, and it was super easy to plan. We rented out the restaurant for about 50 people, and we just had to meet a food and drink minimum, so we had an open bar and buffet-style full dinner service. The manager Zach and the staff were so friendly and attentive! All of our guests loved the space and the food and drink! It was also the perfect size for our group. Highly recommend doing events here, or just coming for drinks or dinner!

The food here is good but way over priced due to being in a tourist area. We got seated outside which was nice but very sunny. They need to invest in umbrellas for sunny San Diego. They had tons of heaters but zero shade. We ordered: -Chips and salsa - came with red and green salsa -Guacamole - had lots of lime juice, we didn’t mind. -Mole sampler - made in house, tastes like chocolate dessert, really good but didn’t come with chips. We used the chips from our salsa. -Empanadas - had lots of fillings -scallops - the best! I wanted more. -Fish tacos - tasty but not worth $10 for a tiny street taco size that was finished in three bites. For drinks I got the Jugo Sano which sounded refreshing with cucumber, basil, lime and tequila. It was not refreshing but bitter strong.

The food, drinks, and ambiance was second-to-none! The band, Sol y Sombra (playing Sundays 5-8pm), lured us in with their delightful Flamenco fusion melodies but we stayed and had the best night! We planned to grab a drink and watch the live music, but Tahona lured us into a full night of Dinner and Drinks. Their food and cocktail menu brings a flair to the familiar flavors of Mexican cuisine with a creativity that left us excited for every bite. After our meal we snuck into the onsite speakeasy, Occulto, where we got drinks personalized to our tastes with a very knowledgeable mixologist and a very well-stocked bar! 10/10!!

This place is really cute, and has a cool dark vibe! We didn't have reservations but they had a table available right outside in front of the restaurant which is connected to the old cemetery which we found to be a great experience! We had dinner right in front of Campo Santo! I did expect a bit more of a variety and flavor, something more from the food. It was good we tried the carnitas bao which was good, the birria Ramen was ok very small portions. The croquetas were basically spicy cheese balls. Overall it was good. It's more about the experience in Old Town and eating by the cemetery with the views that makes it an enjoyable experience.
