I went to this store today (7/26/2025) to return an item. When I got there, no one was at the guest service desk. While I was waiting, a few Target employees walked by me but none of them helped me. They did not even try to make eye contact either. After waiting for more than 5 minutes, I walked to the cashers' area and asked a nice lady who was at check-out lane #2 to call someone to help me. I waited another 5 minutes but still no one showed up. The lady at the casher noticed about that, so she called someone again. Finally one guy showed up and help me to process a return and a separate store-pick. He had no customer service skills. So I asked him if I could speak to the store manager. A few minutes later, the store manager (Frank) showed up. I explained what happened and gave him constructive criticism saying basic customer service training will help this store. Frank was not rude or anything, but I am not sure if he was taking my feedback seriously either. I really hope he did because I used to like this store a lot, but now I am not sure.

I went to Target at mall 205 today and on the checkout desk there was a young African American girl who didn't bother to greet me as a customer but she turned her back to me before even I get the receipt! She threw the receipt while I was still waiting at the register, is that how Target employees appreciate their customers? Never shop there again although I love to shop at Target.

I came in today with my wife and son to grab my prescription from the pharmacy and do some light shopping. My wife tried on a few dresses (the girl working the dressing room counter was pleasant and prompt) and ended up purchasing them. We didn’t realize until the store was nearly closed that she had lost an earring. We called to see if it was there and nothing had been turned into the lost and found, but Kaleb went to check the dressing rooms for us just incase and found it! Prior to finding it, we told him that it was a Safire and diamond earring, so he knew it was valuable and could have easily kept it/sold it/what have you. I’ve lived by this target since 2016 and that’s just to say that I know some of the many challenges they face on a daily basis there. And as someone that has done their time in retail, I know how hard the job can be, and how under-appreciated it often is. But despite all of that and so close to closing time, Kaleb not only took the time to help, but demonstrated a level of professional and courteous customer service that is exceedingly rare. I rushed back to retrieve the earring and thank them for finding it. I don’t remember their name but the employee working the counter in guest services was a delight as well and greeted me with a smile. Thank you both again for your help and hospitality. Doing the right thing is rarely rewarded but I would urge your managers to see to it that you are rewarded for your excellent customer service and hard work, and to do whatever it takes to keep you happy. Speaking as a former manager you can’t teach what they have. Take care of them or you risk losing some incredible talent to someone who will.

I came here to buy a mirror and a man started screaming and ran into the rafters of the store. I was then told I couldn’t buy my mirror because police were evacuating the store. A very ugly man who wanted to climb around prevented my purchase. I offered to battle/joust him if I could buy my mirror. Very sad situation. For me. I drove all the way here. Employees were crying in the parking lot saying “you deserved that mirror.” I took my business to Fred Meyer.

Moreover, the atmosphere at Target lends itself well to mingling and spontaneous activities, which heightens the sense of community and gives groups a lively place to hang out together. For friends looking to coordinate various interests—like trying new snacks, exploring seasonal collections, or prepping for celebrations—Target offers an unparalleled backdrop. With frequent in-store promotions and events, there’s often something new to spark conversations and shared excitement. Hosting a meetup here means taking advantage of a familiar, comfortable space that encourages both leisure and productivity. It’s the kind of spot where everyone can find something enjoyable or useful, making socializing effortless and fun.

What activities can you do at Target during a group meetup?

Target provides a range of activities that cater to all group sizes and interests, making it an ideal venue for meetups. Shopping is the most obvious pastime, but it’s far from monotonous here. You and your friends can explore themed product sections like back-to-school essentials, seasonal home décor, and exclusive fashion collections. Target’s merchandise often includes trendy and affordable items that invite groups to compare finds and share opinions, turning simple browsing into an engaging experience.

Besides shopping, Target often hosts store events that are great for groups. For example, upcoming events include personalized DIY sessions where attendees can style school supplies with patches and charms. These creative workshops provide a hands-on group activity that fosters teamwork and shared memories. Additionally, these events are typically well-organized and family-friendly, ensuring all age groups can participate comfortably.

Food lovers can enjoy Target’s grocery section or snack stops within or around the store, making it a one-stop destination for a casual hangout combined with quick bites or refreshments. For groups that like to pause and chat, the store’s seating areas or nearby food courts offer convenient spots to relax and enjoy conversations. Target also offers convenient services like Drive Up and Order Pickup, which can optimize group logistics for attendees on the move. Altogether, these activities underscore how Target is more than a retail store—it’s a dynamic hub for fun, exploration, and bonding.

Why is Target perfect for a group meetup compared to other venues?

Target stands out as a meetup spot because it balances variety, convenience, and comfort simultaneously. Unlike restaurants or dedicated event spaces, Target doesn’t require any booking or entry fees, which makes spontaneous meetups easier and more budget-friendly for everyone. Its spacious layout allows groups to spread out, explore different aisles, or congregate in a quieter area without feeling cramped or rushed.

The store’s comprehensive product selection appeals to diverse interests within a group, from tech gadgets and apparel to beauty products and household items. This diversity not only helps satisfy different tastes but also encourages dialogue and interaction as friends share needs and suggestions. The availability of essential items alongside trendy, seasonal goods means that a meetup can serve multiple purposes—shopping, socializing, and planning ahead for events like holidays or birthdays.

Furthermore, Target’s staff are generally known for being friendly and helpful, adding an element of customer service that enhances the group’s overall experience. The stores are typically clean and well-maintained, which adds to the comfort level and encourages longer stays. Target locations also tend to be easily accessible, with ample parking and public transit options, which simplifies group travel logistics. For anyone looking to organize a meetup that mixes casual fun with productive shopping, Target’s balance of affordability, variety, and convenience makes it an optimal choice.

How can special events and promotions enhance your meetup at Target?

Target frequently runs special events that can significantly enrich a group gathering. These events often feature interactive components like giveaways, workshops, and personalized activities that bring an engaging social dimension to the outing. For instance, recent and upcoming Target events include styled school supplies personalization and seasonal product launches that encourage group participation and creativity.

These events are designed to be inclusive, catering to different age groups and interests, which means family meetups or friend groups with varied tastes can all find something enjoyable to do. The promotions often come with freebies or discounts, which can make the experience feel rewarding beyond just social interaction. Groups can capitalize on such opportunities to make collective purchases or share deals, creating a sense of camaraderie and shared benefit.

Additionally, the events provide natural conversation starters and icebreakers for groups meeting for the first time or those wishing to deepen existing relationships. The added energy of a themed or timed event helps turn a routine shopping trip into a memorable occasion. Whether it’s personalizing school supplies, attending product demos, or participating in community drives, Target’s events can create meaningful experiences that strengthen bonds while having fun.

What makes Target’s environment comfortable and accessible for group meetups?

Target’s environment is thoughtfully designed to be welcoming and comfortable for all visitors, especially groups. Wide aisles and open spaces allow easy movement and reduce crowding, so groups of friends or families can explore together without feeling confined. The store's layout is intuitive, making it simple to navigate different departments and regroup at meeting points without hassle.

The lighting and clean interiors contribute to a pleasant shopping experience, encouraging longer visits and more relaxed socializing. Many Target locations offer seating areas or designated spots where groups can pause, organize their purchases, or simply chat. Some locations also feature food courts or cafés nearby, providing additional social venues without having to leave the premises.

Accessibility is another key strength. Target locations are generally equipped with ramps and wide doorways, making them friendly for strollers or mobility aids, which is important for family meetups. Adequate parking and proximity to public transit further ease arrival and departure, a practical concern for groups meeting from various places.

Customer service is known for being courteous, helpful, and responsive, which can be invaluable when hosting a group. Friendly staff can assist with product suggestions, quick checkouts, or resolving any issues, making the experience smoother and enjoyable for everyone involved.

How can a group maximize their Target meetup experience?

To get the most out of a meetup at Target, groups can plan their visit around special events and promotions, which add a layer of interactive fun to the event. Checking Target’s store events calendar beforehand can help coordinate timing so everyone gets to enjoy activities like DIY sessions or product showcases together.

Groups should also consider dividing responsibilities or shopping lists among members to streamline the visit and avoid overcrowding in one aisle. This makes the shopping process more efficient and minimizes downtime. Sharing recommendations or pooling coupons can create collaborative shopping dynamics that make the experience engaging for everyone.

Bringing reusable bags or organizing a central spot to aggregate purchases can keep things organized and reduce the hassle at checkout. For meetups including food or refreshments, planning a post-shopping snack break either inside the store’s café if available or a nearby eatery can extend the social time and provide a more relaxing atmosphere.

Finally, capturing the moments with photos or sharing discoveries on social media can help immortalize the meetup and promote future gatherings. Overall, with a little planning and enthusiasm, a group meetup at Target can become a practical, enjoyable, and memorable event that blends shopping with social bonding in an accessible and welcoming setting.
