If you haven’t been here, you need to go. The bar is such a fun place to hangout before your movie starts! The little bites they offer are very movie theater typical, and the drinks are phenomenal. The theater seats are a smidge cramped so beware, especially if you lean on the heavier side or if you have long limbs. This is not Alamo or Cinemark, so no big recliners. The atmosphere makes up for it though—ten fold.

‏ Had a great experience attending a school-sponsored event here to watch a graduating class film. The staff at the concession stand were polite and welcoming. The overall movie experience was enjoyable. While the sound quality could’ve been better, it’s unclear whether that was due to the theater or the film itself. The theater is definitely older, but it has a charming, retro vibe that gives it a unique character. I’m really glad I got to experience something different from the typical modern cinema — it added a special touch to the evening.

As a huge movie buff, visiting the Texas Theatre was like stepping into cinematic history. Known as the oldest theatre in Texas, it’s an absolute treasure for anyone who loves film and the stories behind the places that show them. From the moment I walked through the doors, I could feel the nostalgia—the vintage marquee, the art deco details, and the sense that countless stories have unfolded here, both on and off the screen. I went to see The Godfather, and it was nothing short of magical. Watching such an iconic film in a venue steeped in history added a whole new layer to the experience. The projection was crisp, the sound was rich, and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. It felt like I was seeing the film for the first time, even though I’ve watched it more times than I can count. The staff clearly care about preserving the theatre’s legacy, and their passion for film shines through. The concession stand even had unique options beyond the usual fare, making the night feel extra special. If you love movies, history, or just unique experiences, the Texas Theatre is a must-visit. Seeing The Godfather here was unforgettable. Five stars without hesitation!
