Dan's Inferno
The Bonneville Glen is the west entrance to the Miller Bird Refuge. There's a free parking lot that seems to always have spots. Alternatively, you can park along the street above. The pretty, tree-lined space drops to paths along the north and south sides of Red Butte Creek. The vegetation is dense, so it's cool down in the gully even on a hot day. Beautiful place to go walking. Lots of dogs, though, if that troubles you. Dog owners seem to think their bags of poop will get picked up by others, perhaps? They often leave them tied off and deposited at the trailhead. Kind of a weird habit by dog owners. If that's you, don't do it. It's dangerous for the wild animals that will inevitably chew through the plastic to eat the dogs' refuse inside.

A nice walk in the park. I was trying to find a different spot & stumbled upon Bonneville Glen. I went in the day, but imagine it can be romantic after dark. A very safe park to stroll around & ponder all of life’s greatest mysteries. There were some dogs here, but none of them ran toward me. Calm & peaceful. The creek probably has water normally, but with these unprecedented times & temperatures, the creek was dry. Very nice place for a walk in Salt Lake.

Great place to walk amongst nature. I’ve been here a few times and I have been satisfied every time. It’s a great place to stroll if you aren’t into hiking into the mountains. It’s also attached to a bird refuge. The location is perfect and you will miss it if you aren’t familiar. Great for everyone. I highly recommend
