So depressing. Haven't been in the area for years and it looked so bad. So many places were boarded up and there was so many vacant lots. Even the school I used to go to, is not a school anymore.

The staff at the food pantry are rude also very disorganized. The food their giving out isn’t enough for those with families. When a Community member spoke on this issue because she had a bigger family size she was screamed at threatened to have to put food back is she didn’t take what they gave her. The Greater Chicago Food Depository gives plenty food to this place and bags to disperse the food items but the community members are told to bring their own bags. If residents of the community didn’t bring enough bags their just out of luck. Someone needs to do something. People shouldn’t be treated in this manner. Also these donated items need to be dispersed honestly. I was told the workers take what they want and sell to local stores. My husband works for The Greater Chicago and he delivers lots of items to this place. Ice cream being one and I have never seen that item dispersed. it’s Truly sad to have the opportunity to help the community based on the backs of kind companies to donate and whoever runs this establishment isn’t being honest with those items and or making sure those running the establishment is being fair and kind to its members of the community. I will report this matter to The greater Chicago.

I went there for the food pantry. I left my cellphone there. I returned for my cellphone, but could not find it. All meals are served free of charge. Wellness centers take your blood and urine to check your health.
