Free kayaking on Hudson river!! We loved our experience! Little windy on the day we went out , but we still had a great time trying kayaking together for the first time. We went on Sunday around 11am and was not crowded and was able get on the kayak with in minutes. They also provided free locker as well. No shower and you gotta bring your own towel. I definitely would go back to this spot and highly recommend it for everyone!

My friend and I had the best time kayaking!! We went around 2 pm on a Saturday and surprisingly didn’t wait too long. Everything ran super smoothly. The volunteers were very kind, helpful, and informative. We could tell that they love what they do. This was such a cool event, and it was awesome that it was free for the community.

The Downtown Boathouse offers free kayaking on the Hudson. After a short lesson, we felt perfectly safe, no fear of tipping. Just an absolutely beautiful day on the water looking at Manhattan from a new perspective. As soon as you get in your kayak, your blood pressure drops, stress goes away, and happiness spreads all over. Support this great organization!

FREE KAYAKING WAS SOOOOOOOOOO FUN. the volunteers were nice for the most part, groups go out in 20minute time slots. the line goes pretty fast. they give you a lock for a locker, a life vest, and ore before you get onto the boat. They give instructions and explanations if you’ve never kayaked before. you will get a wet butt, wearing something that dries quick is recommended.

Free kayaking in NYC during the summer. Come in, sign the waiver, they offer you a key for the locker, get a life vest, get your paddle (make sure you don't hit people with your paddle), then off you go to the line for safety instructions. All volunteers are very nice and trained. Please follow the rules for your safety and follow directions by the volunteer. There is also a donation box if you want to donate. They also provide sunscreen, the station is next to the paddles station. Shower pole to rinse off too. You can sign up to volunteer too during your free time. There is a volunteer training session. They do this every summer and make sure to check their website for the location. They have several locations for free kayaking. There is public restroom at pier 25. Come out and have fun in the water!!! One more thing, YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM !!!
