Only my 2nd time using a Chicago food pantry and they had great selection, Produce seemed fresh and selection was great. I got enough beef to last a month if I portion it out correctly. They even had snacks! I waited for about an hour and a half to get in the doors, but the line moved relatively quick. The staff was welcoming and considerate.

They give you spoiled food or soon-to-be spoiled food and expect you to live a healthy life with it! I love the fact that they give you a lot of food, yet 90% of it is either spoiled or going to be spoiled the day after. It's pathetic to know that they have been doing this before for a very long time and did nothing to stop it yet are militant in THEIR approach to giving you not edible food.

Very nice staff/volunteers. Large variety of fresh produce and proteins. The only issue I have is I arrive at 8am usually a few people are there. By 11:30 lots of people show up who just leave their carts, bags wagons etc in the line (some even the night prior) and end up being served before those of us who waited hours in the heat/cold. I wish they would address this issue. I left today because people were arguing and almost got into a fight because of this problem. I pray nobody got hurt.
