It is a beautiful restaurant, the atmosphere is great. The food is delicious, very flavorful. We order the lobster which is a must, the oyster, the cucumber salad and the flit mignon. Everything was delicious. It is pricey but it is for us it was a great experience and it was worth it. We will def come back.

The Garden Room is a must do bucket list spot in Atlanta!! It’s like walking into a magical, enchanted garden! The decor is out of this world and the atmosphere and vibe cannot be beat. Be forewarned that it is very expensive and the portions are tiny. We were shocked to receive an almost $500 bill for 4 drinks (2 each), 2 meals and an app. To start with, upon sitting, we were told the drink “special” was a smoking old fashioned so my husband ordered one of those. The presentation was phenomenal as it was brought over by a gentleman wearing gloves in a glass box that poured out smoke when he opened it. Of course it was tiny so he agreed when the waitress asked if he wanted another one not thinking much of it because it was “on special”. Even the ice cubes had little carousel horses carved in them!! Turns out they were about $70 a piece. In the grand scheme of high end dining across the country this is not the most expensive old fashioned out there, however if it’s your special and it’s still that much, tell people that because that price is far from typical. For our appetizer we ordered the hummus. The waitress asked if we wanted crisps to dip in it. Of course we said yes because we weren’t planning to just eat it with a spoon. She brought over a few homemade crisps which were really thin, so we went through them quickly. When she asked if we needed more we said yes. Never thinking or being aware that we were being charged for them at $7-8 each time. We assumed that something would be served with hummus so weren’t expecting those charges. The hummus was good and so was my pasta dish. Very small portion…about one ladle full. My first vodka drink was also in a very small glass for over $20 each and not very strong. But again, presentation was very pretty. Overall, I would say this…The Garden Room is an exquisite experience that cannot be missing in Atlanta. 10 stars for the atmosphere and the vibe. The only reason that I gave it less stars is because I feel that they should be more transparent with their pricing and charges. Also for those prices the drinks should be strong and the portions should be bigger. Out of curiosity after going, I had read some reviews and saw tons of people commenting about the same thing, so I do think this is one area where they can improve as people do not enjoy getting surprise bills in the hundreds of dollars for two people. However, it is still a must see! Just go in knowing this information and perhaps just go in and grab a drink at the bar where you can clearly see the pricing on the menu and enjoy this magical place! If you really want to impress somebody, this is the place to take them! *pro date night tip…when you walk out there is a secret speakeasy across the way if you pay attention. Great spot for a night cap!

When we arrived, we were greeted by two friendly receptionists, and the wait was short. However, the hostess who escorted us to our table attempted to seat us at a high-top. While not mandatory, it’s generally a nice gesture to give special-occasion guests a more comfortable table, so I politely mentioned this. Her response was surprisingly rude and dismissive, which could have soured the night entirely. Thankfully, our server and the managers went above and beyond to turn the experience around. Their attentiveness truly saved the evening. Food highlights: • The oysters were hands down the best I’ve ever had — fresh, briny, and perfect. • The yellowtail appetizer was bursting with flavor and incredibly fresh. • The bread service initially came out cold, but the managers quickly remade it so it was warm and fresh. For my entrée, I ordered the short rib — rich, flavorful, but unfortunately a bit cold. This seemed to be due to the restaurant’s policy of taking the entire food order at once. While efficient in theory, it means that if you add more dishes (like our extra oysters), it can throw off the timing, resulting in some items arriving less than hot. Several dishes had to be remade because of this. Dessert presentation was beautiful — the rose detail was a lovely touch — but the flavor was just okay. The music created a lively atmosphere without being overwhelming, and both our server and the managers truly made us feel cared for after the rocky start. After two visits, my recommendation would be to come for cocktails and appetizers — especially those oysters — and soak in the whimsical atmosphere.
