Why The Monkey Bar is a fun option when searching for things to do near me with friends and family

The Monkey Bar, located at 60 E. 54th Street in Manhattan, is a distinguished restaurant celebrated for its unique blend of classic glamour and cozy ambiance, making it an exceptional meeting place for friends. This nearly century-old establishment was revitalized in 2009 by Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, his wife Anna, and hotelier Jeff Klein, restoring its former glory with lush red leather banquettes and dim, inviting lighting. The décor evokes the Jazz Age, highlighted by a magnificent three-paneled mural by renowned illustrator Edward Sorel featuring icons like Duke Ellington and F. Scott Fitzgerald, providing a nostalgic yet vibrant atmosphere perfect for socializing. Patrons can enjoy upscale American fare including Lobster Bisque, Saffron Risotto, and Rohan Duck, alongside a renowned cocktail menu featuring inventive drinks such as 'The Monkey Gland.' The restaurant's spacious sunken dining room and upstairs walk-in-only tavern offer versatility for casual drinks as well as elegant dinners. Whether gathering for a special occasion, a date night, or a relaxed meet-up, The Monkey Bar’s blend of stylish midtown energy and a nod to bygone elegance makes it an outstanding choice for meaningful connections and memorable experiences.

The absolute greatest bar in the "dive bar" scene. This bar has it all. High quality chilled tequila and my favorite IPA at a great price. 2 pool tables, 2 gorgeous beer pong tables, and much, much more. If you're visiting denver this is a must dive bar pit stop, you won't regret it!

Local watering hole with a decent little back patio that goes missed if you’ve never been (through the back right behind bar). Have some games and beer pong on some nights. Nothing special but suffices for getting a local drink.

I love coming into my local bar, especially when Tanner is working! She’s beyond kind and so skilled behind the bar! When I’m hesitant to come in, seeing her behind the bar is a push to come in and have a fun, but also safe night. I am so wildly appreciate of her and her awareness of what is happening not only within, but outside the bar. She helped me get home safely tonight and I am beyond appreciative of her and her outstanding customer service 💚 If I see her working when I walk by I will always be a customer!
