Sit wherever you want. It’s nice out on the patio when the weather is good. The fish was crispy and tasty with the side tartar sauce, not fishy tasting. The fries were seasoned great and I think you could ask for the skinny fries if you prefer those. Free drink samples on beer if you are unsure which you would prefer!

This is a lovely brunch spot in a trendy neighborhood. Their mimosas are good and the fish and chips were delicious. They provided malt vinegar on the table. This is a great place to relax on a Sunday and people-watch; plus our server was very pleasant and attentive.

Finally had the Monk Burger and boy was it delicious! I appreciate the mist fans for these hot days as well. What made the visit outstanding in my opinion was the service I received from an awesome young lady by the name of America. Nothing less than an absolute delight. The Old Monk overall is well worth your patronage!

We used to come here all the time before we moved from the area. We came back today it was great as usual. I typically get the chicken strips because they might be my favorite in Dallas. Today I went with the chicken, biscuits, and gravy on the brunch menu. While I thought it was good, I regretted not getting the chicken strips. They are too good! The rest of the group got a salad and eggs Benedict and said it was great (pictured). A dog friendly patio is a plus and the staff immediately brought us a dog bowl. Highly recommend if you want a casual bite with good drinks!

Came down to Dallas from South Carolina to visit my friend for her graduation. I had been to the old monk before and it was great. Well this time, I go up to the bar and tell the bartender(that was rude as hell by the way) what I wanted to drink and he took my ID, inspected it then took it to his manager. He returned it back to me saying he couldn’t serve me. I was so flabbergasted that the staff SNAPPED my ID in half because they thought it was fake. I was freaking out because not only was it our first night in Dallas but I had a flight to take back to South Carolina. I NEED AN INTACT ID TO SCAN AT THE AIRPORT. Asked to talk to a manager and all she did was ask if I wanted a shot..after she had told that nasty bartender to not serve me. Absolutely ridiculous...I would rather PAY MONEY for a shot somewhere else than to have a FREE shot from them. Warning, if you’re young and from a different state or country even, do NOT go here unless you want to pay to get a new ID or not be able to get on a flight back home.
