Private range with NONE of the problems that come with public ranges. First, you need to pass a background check to join, which I appreciate. There are 3 tiers of membership charged annually. I chose the standard to give it a shot, which was $3000 at the time. Comes out to $250 a month, which is comparable to a Gym Club membership? I don't know what you get with the other tiers. They use a reservation system, so no lines or waiting ever. 1hr sessions, but if nobody is next or there are open lanes, which always seems to be the case, stay as long as you want after checking at the desk. The facility itself has private rooftop parking, fingerprint security to enter, super clean, and a welcome lobby with friendly staff. I've always hated the way public ranges seemed like complete chaos when you enter them. There are two different bays with 8 lanes each and a super fancy target system that lets you do a wide range of drills. Facetime, charging, flashing lights. I haven't even begun to explore all the options yet. The ventilation system seems to work really well, doesn't have that "I'm breathing in toxic fumes" smell that public ranges always seem to have. The gun cleaning room with everything you need is just an added bonus and one I appreciate and use often. Cleaning at home is kind of a mess. There is also a simulator room with a shoot/no shoot scenario program for CCW practice. The M17/M18 are refilled with air pressure for cycling realism. I actually bought a CCW holster just for this. The program does require two people to run it realistically, because choosing your own scenario outcome kind of kills the realism. There are some shooting games on it also, but I haven't tried any of them. They also sell ammo, I think just for range use. They have private lessons if you feel like you need to up your skills (Bob Wu is awesome), classes for beginners to some more advance drawing and marksmanship. Usually a monthly CCW class through VIP Services. And a few events per month I haven't tried like low light shooting and Tactile firearm night, which I think are free for members? I know this probably sounds like an infomercial, but coming from a public range, like LAX, its a nice change of pace. No lines, no tourist flagging you, no neighbors with questionable safety skills. The RangeLA feels more like a Country Club for gun owners. I usually have some negatives to report with my positives, but I honestly don't have any that I can think of outside of no guests for the lower tier of membership. Otherwise, I don't know if I can ever go back to a public range now, I've been spoiled.

My first impression: Really Modern and Clean. It's a country club for gun owners. Really well though out a place. The range itself has a computerized system and you could set up automated drills from certain distances. They also have a range for shooting from the holster which is very rare for an indoor range. The lounge was really nice. All the members are vetted and have cleared backgrounds. I felt very safe and secure the entire time there. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable (one's even a gunsmith) My host was having a malfunction with his firearm and they sorted it right out for him. They also have a dedicated room for just cleaning guns and all supplies are provided by the Range LA. The complimentary coffee and snacks is the cherry on top. Highly recommend.

Recently spent the afternoon at Range LA and it was a great experience. If I could give 6 stars I would. Everything in the building is top notch. The place is brand new and has that new car smell and it's meticulously maintained. Most of the ranges in Socal are old and tired and have a junkyard feel but this place feels like a 5 star hotel. The shooting lanes are all computerized and have bunch of functions and games I've never experienced anywhere else. After we shot we relaxed in the lounge with a huge big screen TV and complimentary coffee/soda and light snacks. The staff was great and super helpful. I had a couple novice questions and the manager Dave explained everything in a fun easy going way that didn't make me feel dumb for asking. They even have their own parking lot with a ton of spaces and in west LA that makes all the difference. It's a private club and you have to be a member (I was a guest of a member) so it doesn't have a lot of random people walking in and out which I really liked. I'm going to return one more time as a guest and if the experience is the same I will join that day.
