Stopped in this lovely kitchen store on a whim with my partner. We had been tossing around the idea of getting a pasta roller for a while, and we saw they have a great one from Italy in the store for a great price. The sales person (or could’ve been the owner, we weren’t sure), was so kind to proactively show us how it worked and what care maintenance involved. He even printed us 2 recipes to try out! We just finished our first homemade linguini and couldn’t be happier!!!! Will happily come back for more quality cooking supplies! 😍

After years of passing by the Wooden Spoon when it was closed, finally stopped in one day in early October when it was open. I immediately spotted a modern Peugeot pepper mill that I loved. As I placed it on the checkout counter, the salesperson informed me it was actually a salt mill. My mistake, didn't even test it because I trust Peugeot's quality. So the salesperson said he would be happy to order a pepper mill and call when it arrived in about 2 weeks. I said great and looked forward to receiving my call. It's now 2 months later and not a word. I called back once to check, and an uninterested woman said it wasn't in yet and to call back. I never checked online because I wanted to give my business to a small independent shop (I know, my purchase was peanuts, the pepper mill was only $45). But while I was browsing that day, I saw some cookware I intended to come back for. Unfortunately, I will never return to the Wooden Spoon. They did not value me as a customer. So much for trying to buy local. P.S. I finally went online and found the exact same pepper mill at West Elm, same price with free shipping.

My boyfriend, two of our friends, and I had a great time tonight at Wooden Spoon. We booked the Korean class and our instructor, Scott, did a wonderful job. The class was very informative and engaging. Everyone had the opportunity to participate and ask questions. Scott did a nice job of distributing tasks among the participants (12 in total) and ensured everyone remained aware of what was going on. Details were shared about the ingredients and how to use them properly. We will definitely be returning for another class.

Save your $$$! I did the dim sum class and I would not do another class at Wooden Spoon again for the following reasons: 1. They had everyone wash their hands but didn't provide gloves...which is absolutely disgusting 2. The instructor although super nice was frazzled and even threw away chopped onions becuase she thought they were extras 3. Everyone just had to prep food and then took turns assembling. The dough was premade and learning to stuff egg rolls and bao buns is pretty underwhelming 4. They provided a break and then everyone went back to "cooking". No one was required to wash hands after the break...again gross. 5. There was no accounting for which knives or cutting boards were used for meats vs veggies 6. I was STARVING after this "meal" which was maybe 1/4 cup noodles, 1 egg roll (deep fried so I didn't eat it), two mini pot stickers/shumai and a bao bun. 7. I have no idea how to cook Chinese food after attending this class. It should have been a chopping class vs cooking class. 8. One star because the small portion I ate did taste good

Booked a cooking class for a work event at The Wooden Spoon. We had a great time, the food was delicious and easy to prepare. The shop is adorable as was the neighborhood. We experienced excellent customer service prior to and during the event. I would definitely book another cooking class here in the future.
