My (now) ex-girlfriend and I had the most incredible experience at Throw and Build in Seattle. We took the hand-build mug-making class, and it was such a fun and creative way to spend time together. The studio itself is absolutely beautiful — warm, inviting, and filled with a wonderful energy that makes you feel right at home. But what made our experience truly unforgettable was that I used the mug she made to propose to my NOW-fiancée ;). The Throw and Build team went above and beyond to help me plan the surprise. A huge shoutout to Henry, who was incredibly communicative and supportive throughout the entire process, helping me coordinate everything seamlessly. The staff are all so kind and helpful, making sure everyone feels comfortable and encouraged, no matter their skill level. If you’re looking for a unique date night, a fun activity with friends, or a beautiful place to create a one-of-a-kind proposal, I can’t recommend Throw and Build enough!

I could not say more great things about the studio, the staff, and its owners. Henry and Jessica go above and beyond creating a welcoming environment that fosters creativity and promotes learning new skills whether that be at the wheel or hand building. I am grateful for joining when they opened and starting my pottery journey here. I highly recommend the studio to anyone who is considering picking up pottery, and also recommend the GREAT classes they have for those who do not want to jump into a membership. Thank you Henry and Jessica for creating such a great space!

Beginner class: I chose to take my beginner class here because it offers unlimited access to the studio – which is awesome, can’t even remember how many hours I’ve spent there over the past few weeks... Outside of class, the studio also offers Sunday practice sessions where you get free practice clay and coaching from an instructor. Staff / owner: Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. Besides my instructor William, I also got so much help from Pam, Henry, and Jessica, who each answered tons of my questions. You really get a friendly community vibe, with people chatting and sharing their progress. Tools: Good range of basic tools that are pretty new and well maintained. Definitely enough for beginner practice. LOTS of wheels and very easy to book a spot. Facilities: Super clean and well organized, with a nice clean bathroom.

Just finished the 6 week beginner class and it was fantastic. William and Pam were excellent teachers and coaches. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and made a surprising amount of pieces! The facilities are nice, they provided everything we needed throughout the 6 weeks, and overall the community is just really nice, inclusive, and welcoming. Highly recommend!

My husband and I took beginner pottery classes here in November. We fell in love with the art form and the studio. Even though we live quite far away from the studio we decided to become members and continued for 5 months. Jessica and Henry are amazing. William is the most fun, enthusiastic teacher/ artist to be around. The studio is beautiful, the people are friendly and helpful. Nobody gatekeeps any technique. Knowledge and stories are swapped casually over pottery wheels or glazing stations. I made some very good friends here. So if you want to make not just fun pots and mugs, but also friends who share your hobbies and maybe even your taste in music or literature — Throw & Build is going to be your happy place for the forseeable future.
