Unfortunately an unusually awful experience. Went in with my boyfriend and friend and forgot I had just ordered WA license which was in the mail, so I didn’t have ID. I was carded at checkout and told them honestly that it was in the mail and didn’t have it, so they refused to sell to my bf or friend which is completely reasonable. Maybe a bit overkill, but I understand those are the laws/policies or whatever. So I didn’t make a big deal about it. But the way this employee spoke to me as if I was a hardened criminal, she made me feel like scum of the earth for a simple oversight on my part. She was so mean and the car ride home everyone was left feeling a bit shaken from the whole experience. I will never shop at this specific TWM again- especially since BevMo is right down the way. I encourage them to reassess who they employ here. And to stop treating their customers like criminals.

Great experience and selection at Total Wine. Anna at the Armory location has extensive knowledge and can point you in the right direction, especially with whiskey. All the employees are nice and helpful, she is just exceptionally, exceptional. My gripes with Total Wine that prevent me from giving them 5 stars is: 1) They obviously push employees to sell Spirits Direct products. Some of these products are quite good, but overall I would rate them average at best and it is tiresome to get all of these "deals" and "great" products pushed on me every time I visit. 2) Their tastings, at least in WA, are more of the Spirits Direct push. Let me try something interesting and good or don't bother me. 3) Why are the shelf prices BEFORE taxes in WA so high? Are operating costs and bottles in Puyallup that much more expensive than Beverly Hills? It feels like gouging due to lack of competition and it is frustrating to see so many bottles priced above Suggested Retail Price. Then add Washington's taxes and you can easily pay twice the price of the same bottle in an out-of-state Total Wine.
