Nice whiskey selection, and wonderful scotch Sunday! I like their truffle fries as well, nice flavor with reasonable price! The cocktails here are also Ok, but I personally like their whiskey selections better. A nice place for drinks in Fremont!

Food was surprisingly better than expected since the waitress said she thought the cook left for the night 🤔 Service was really slow, given it was a Wednesday night at 8pm and hardly anyone in restaurant. Waiting 10 minutes for someone to take your drink order in what is essentially—a bar…is too long. Not a cheap meal given what we had. 20% mandatory fee added doesn’t help me love this place given the mediocre service. Will pass on next visit to Seattle.

Barrel Thief is an absolute gem. I've gone there through a change of ownership, the pandemic and many other events and it has never managed to disappoint. It is, a tucked away phenomenal bar and restaurant. The Whisk(e)y selection is their main attraction and outside of Cannon, MWS and Jack Rose you'll be hard pressed to find a better variety of high quality whiskies. They have you covered from Bullet all the way to 50yr Glenlivet and specialty whiskies like Whistle Pig's the Spirit of Mauve or Yamazaki. Food changes a bit but I can't say I've had more than one dish I didn't like, and the staff is always receptive to feedback. The titular staff is the best part and while they've changed over the years they are, and continue to be the heart of the restaurant. Barrel Thief with it's whiskey passport, festivity nights and Whiskey vault manages to capture the atmosphere of a Speakeasy but the heart of a well worn local watering hole. If you are in Seattle and the above intrigues you, you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not visit.

The Barrel Thief was a really awesome addition to an already great day after exploring Bainbridge island. We had excellent pours of neat whiskey, which was helped by the excellent service. I will say that the hummus we got was okay at best and the place definitely seemed understaffed. Would come back for sure.

Drinks are well served. Food is hit or miss. From appetizers we ordered hummus, charcuterie board and chef's mushrooms. From dishes we ordered a hamburger. The hummus was too salty which was left uneaten, mushrooms were too mushy. You can't mess up the charcuterie board. The burger and fries tasted good though. Overall we spent 80+ per person.
