The Tribeca Greenmarket is open in NYC on Saturdays from 8am-2pm year round, by a quiet tree-lined park east of the Chambers St & Hudson River intersection where there is a citibike dock. Here is a list of a few vendors. Lani's Farm (also at union square) is a no-spray farm using natural compost and is beyond organic standards, and has special varieties of vegetables throughout the entire year and is popular with top restaurants, and has reasonable prices. Prospect Hill Orchards is one of the few orchards in NY State (from Hudson Valley) to have organic apples, and also has varieties of berries in the summer that are no-spray, and has a nice selection of baked goods and granola. Francesca's Bakery sells sweet and savory baked goods, and my favorites include the whole grain gluten-free apple buckwheat tart, and vegetable knishes and pastries.

I drop off my compost and buy eggs here on a weekly basis! The growers and farmers are personable and happy to share information, recipes and stories. I truly love this market!!

It's small compared to Union Square Farmer's Market but you can also drop off your compost.

Farmers' markets are indispensable to New York life, they bring fresh food (and flowers) that you won't find at your supermarket or bodega, usually for less. The Tribeca Greenmarket is a critical asset to everyone who lives below Canal Street, and a great place to see your neighbors and local elected officials!
