We paid $877 for 2 nights at a Vacasa-managed condo that advertised A/C only to arrive and find the unit sweltering at 78–80°F the entire time. We messaged Vacasa repeatedly when we say the thermostat at check-in. They replied saying they alerted the local team, but no one ever came and the issue was never resolved. For this price, you’d expect a basic amenity like A/C to function, and for support to actually show up. We’ve requested a refund and are still waiting. Extremely disappointing experience and would not recommend booking with Vacasa if you want reliability or support.

Want your family vacation canceled last minute? Try Vacasa! I had a property secured for months for a beach vacation. Just days before we set sail they tell us the owner had it booked with another site. And that’s that- trip canceled! And they have no other options in the area, of course. I had paid in full. They only offered a refund. Now, can I get something else last minute? Sure, but at a huge premium. I asked the company to pay for a fraction of the rebooking cost on another site- denied. The Vacasa platform allows owners to fish for more offers on their property. Sure, it may work out for you, or they may take a better offer on another site- you never know!

We had a terrible experience with a Vacasa rental on Seashore Drive in Newport Beach. The home was misrepresented, several amenities didn’t work, and overall it was nothing like what was promised. When I reached out regarding problems, they responded three days later by saying they are only available during office hours. After we complained, a Vacasa representative admitted to the issues and offered us a refund of over $1,700 (for one night’s stay, the cleaning fee, and the hot tub). We agreed to that resolution, and they told us the credit would be issued to our credit card in 3 to 5 business days. But instead of processing the refund, Vacasa falsely accused us of property damage. When we challenged that accusation, they later admitted it wasn’t true but by that point, they had completely gone silent. No refund was issued. No one responded to our multiple follow-ups. Out of desperation, we even emailed Robert, the CEO of Vacasa, directly and received no response whatsoever. The company has ghosted us entirely. Vacasa strung us along with a false resolution, made up a damage claim, and then vanished when it came time to follow through. We have all emails and documentation. Their behavior has been unprofessional, dishonest, and shady from start to finish. We even tried to leave an honest review on their website and they never allowed it to be publicly posted. Do not trust this company with your money or your vacation.

I recently booked a 3-night stay with Vacasa for a special occasion—my birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing and far from what was promised. Three days before my arrival, I reached out to Vacasa specifically to confirm that all the amenities—especially the sauna, hot tub, and BBQ—were in proper working condition. They assured me that everything would be ready and functioning. However, upon arrival, I found the following issues: The sauna did not heat up at all The BBQ was broken and lying on the ground in pieces The pool floor was dirty The hot tub had visible dirt and buildup inside No TV streaming services were operational The fridge was at nearly room temperature, making it unusable for storing food I immediately contacted Vacasa to request that these issues be addressed. The next day, they sent a maintenance person who admitted he couldn’t fix anything and said someone else would be sent. The following day, I was told that the technician had the day off and no one else was available. No other problems were addressed, and despite several follow-ups, I received no support. After my stay ended, it took four days and multiple phone calls (because they never followed up as promised) to receive any kind of response. I paid $1,500 for a 3-day stay, yet similar properties without the sauna, hot tub, and BBQ are listed around $1,000. Vacasa offered a $150 refund—without explaining how they came up with that number—and stopped communicating when I asked for a fairer resolution. This was supposed to be a joyful birthday celebration with friends, but it turned into a stressful and frustrating experience. The lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and complete disregard for guest satisfaction left a lasting negative impression. I do not recommend Vacasa and will think twice before ever booking with them again.

I recently booked a stay in Depoe Bay, Oregon for one night while traveling down the coast. Apartment was seemingly fine minus the guest towels smelling like dog. However, as the evening went on the guests staying in the unit above us arrived back at their apartment and were extremely loud. They were banging, yelling, playing loud music, slamming doors, and shifting furniture across the floor. I reached out to Vasaca who reached out to the tenants to quiet down. Thereafter the tenants only got louder. Around 10pm the noise was so bad we packed up and left and checked into a hotel for the night. After that, I demanded a refund from Vasaca. Initially I was told that because I had used the shower and bed that a refund couldn’t be given. Then when I further explained what happened I was told next time to call the police and that maybe they’ll take my story into consideration for a refund. A couple of days later they sent me $50 without any follow up call or explanation. Hands down worst experience I’ve had renting a place through air bnb with Vasaca as the property manager. I will never use them again and will stay away from their properties.
