I used to love this place. It still has an amazing variety of stuff. They still have pretty decent prices on clothing. However, on the rest of the stuff the pricing is a joke. They wanted $69.99 for a set of glasses that I saw at an Antique store for $15. Whoever does the pricing is way full of themselves. You’re a thrift store.

Simultaneously the best and worst store. The employees are rude and ignorant, but you will always find hidden treasure. If you go early there won’t be any carts available because the little ladies show up early and hold on to them building mountains of clothing on top for what seems like several hours.

Went to thrift store and as I was shopping my daughter drop some toys. We were try to pick them up. When one of the employee ( male, African American and older) was sweeping told us to excuse him so he can sweep, we were still picking up the toys from the floor, he told us to hurry up (with up set tone) again he told us to hurry up and start to cusses us out. I told him, what was his problem we ended up leaving the store. If he does not like his job he should find another job. I will be calling to store tomorrow, this behavior is not acceptable.

I don't know how people say that this store is a horrible place because when I went there the employees were nice, helpful and entertaining, although I went to find a old phone because I love old phones and seeing the past of the old cellphone generation and when I called one of the employees they actually responded on a positive mood and I told him about the cellphone I wanted. Right away he said 8$ and it was on good condition after that I went ahead and buyed the phone, amazing store. ( 5 stars) Note: I don't know what Melissa was saying that the employees are very rude

Horrible store. Asked about some unpriced items behind the counter and the employee proceeded to use eBay as a pricing guide, not very thrifty. When talking to a manager he was dismissive and not willing to work with prices. Went here to get things for a thrifty deal not eBay prices. The whole store could use some organization and clean up as well.

What are the best tips for groups planning to visit Value World? To maximize the Value World meetup experience, groups should consider a few strategic tips. First, coordinate arrival times to avoid peak hours if possible, ensuring a more relaxed shopping environment and easier navigation through aisles. Bring reusable shopping bags to carry your finds efficiently and reduce plastic use, complementing the store’s sustainability goals. Plan to spend at least an hour or two, as the inventory is extensive and browsing deeply can uncover the best deals and hidden gems. Group members can share phones or cameras to photograph items for collective opinions or future reference before purchase. Finally, set a shared group budget or shopping goal before arriving, which can make the outing both fun and mindful, avoiding impulsive buys and stretching overall savings. These approaches help turn a simple thrift store visit into an enriching group activity that balances practicality, enjoyment, and community values.

What makes Value World stand out compared to other thrift stores? Unlike some thrift retailers that rely heavily on donations, Value World purchases the items it sells, providing a higher likelihood of consistent item quality and variety. The chain operates in several major cities, making it a recognizable name for people seeking secondhand goods in urban areas. Its moderate pricing strategy, combined with frequent discounts, encourages repeat visits and group shopping trips for those seeking affordable yet quality merchandise. While some customers note occasional issues with pricing or stock availability, others praise the surprise element of discovering high-end designer labels and unique finds, which adds to the allure. The professionalism of the staff, particularly in newer or updated locations, also helps distinguish the shopping experience. For groups, this balance of better item control with the fun of thrifting offers an attractive alternative to smaller, inconsistent thrift shops. In summary, Value World’s business practice and inventory approach make it a compelling destination for groups looking to mingle, save money, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

How accessible and convenient is Value World for group outings? Value World’s store locations are generally accessible in urban and suburban areas, often near other convenient retail destinations, lending to multitasking on group outings. The stores maintain broad operating hours, usually from morning until 9 pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and shorter hours on Sundays, fitting well with various group schedules. Parking availability typically supports group visits, offering enough space for multiple vehicles. Additionally, the proximity to Family Dollar and Dollar General stores at certain locations allows groups to extend their visit comfortably, perhaps grabbing refreshments or additional essentials. This convenience, combined with a welcoming store environment, fosters flexible and enjoyable group outings.

Some customers express disappointment with price increases and stock quality fluctuations, noting challenges in finding good deals consistently. Staff typically value employee discounts and the experience gained working among diverse merchandise and clientele. For groups, this mixed feedback underscores the importance of approaching the experience with realistic expectations, focusing on the social and discovery aspects rather than expecting a perfect retail experience. Taking feedback into account can help a group plan a fun, relaxed outing centered on shared thrift exploration rather than just shopping efficiency.
