Wells Branch Community Library is truly the best library ever! It’s always peaceful and quiet the perfect place to read, study, or just relax. It never feels crowded, and the staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming every time I visit. The restrooms are some of the cleanest I’ve seen in any public space, and I really appreciate that they offer free women’s products such a thoughtful touch that shows they care about the community. Their movie selection is amazing better than any other library I’ve been to. Whether you’re into classics, indie films, or new releases, there’s always something great to check out. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out. This place is a hidden gem!

I recently attended a crafting event at the Wells Branch Community Library hosted by Katrina, and it was an absolute blast! Katrina was a lot of fun - I’d get kicked out of a craft fair with her anytime! 😊 In general, I’ve really enjoyed my visits to this library. It’s a peaceful, welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can come to read, study, work, or rest, which is exactly what a public library should be. I have seen a few people using the space to rest, and while I understand that might be uncomfortable for some, I think it’s important to remember that libraries are one of the only safe, air-conditioned public spaces left for those without stable housing. Not everyone has access to a quiet home or office. For some, this library may be the only refuge they have. Fortunately, I haven’t personally encountered any rude staff members. Everyone I’ve spoken with has been kind and helpful. In my experience, the staff does a great job of maintaining a respectful environment. If we want stronger communities, we have to start by treating all people, housed or unhoused, with dignity. I’m grateful this library continues to be a space that welcomes everyone.

I’ve visited this library multiple times and generally appreciate the quiet atmosphere. However, there’s one staff member whose behavior has consistently made me uncomfortable. She often smirks or gives off an unwelcoming energy when I walk by — not once or twice, but repeatedly. It’s subtle, but unmistakable. At first, I brushed it off. But now it feels intentional, and it doesn’t reflect the kind of professionalism or neutrality I expect in a public service environment. I’m writing this not just for myself, but for others who may have experienced similar discomfort. Public libraries should be safe, inclusive spaces — not places where people feel judged or monitored for simply existing. I hope this is addressed internally, because it’s not okay to make patrons feel this way, no matter how discreet the behavior may seem.

What is up with the staff here? If you hate your job or helping people, then leave and stop treating library patrons like garbage. The library is well maintained and has a nice selection, but the librarians need some training in how to provide customer service.
