I've been coming to this West Marine for longer than I can remember and it just dawned on me why that has been even when I can buy most products elsewhere, like in Amazon. It is because they, particularly Janis, take care of their customers, and in a way that feels like family. They have helped me find things, fix things, and figure out things, things I alone didn't know the how to. There has never been a time they have not stood behind their sales: fast and easy refunds, instructions, on-site assistance, courtesy exchanges, and always with a smile and genuine interest. Thank you for an always excellent experience. Thank you for always being there.

I was intentionally deceived into thinking that because I was purchasing an expensive item, I would be rewarded with an upgraded membership. I later discovered that Janis (the cashier at the Coral Gables WM) slipped a $25 membership fee into my bill. My fault for not looking at the receipt until I left the store and was well out of distance. It's obvious that there is some incentive for your associates to do this, but it's really unkind to do it under the guise of a reward. I also understand that the WM membership rewards you with points to use on your next purchase and in essence, pays for itself in due course. However, that's not the point of my argument. I was so disappointed that I went to the store just minutes from my house and demanded a refund. Your associate, Jacob at the Pinecrest WM, gave me a lame explanation about my lack of comprehension of the matter and then without even a cursory apology, returned my $25.00. Your people have a lot to learn about the retail business and how to deal with customers that have been wronged.
