Ok classes . Ok heat. 2nd time got there exactly at class time and wouldn’t let me in for “safety concerns” 🫤 Absurd. No one wants to be on time which is late, agreed. Every studio across the country has a grace period, bc life happens… 7pm class getting there at 7pm after walking 15 blocks and climbing 3 stories to be told no bc the teacher JUST walked up? 30 secs earlier was ok tho ? Put that on the website. Too many studio options to go out of my way, multiple flights of stairs and coed bathrooms to be possibly told no if one day you happen to not get there 15mins before like we should. Funny, first class I took started 7 mins late AND 2 girls walked in and set up AFTER the teacher. Guess it’s just men that have to be early

I came for a Sculpt class. Clean facilities located right on the 3rd + 4th floors. It's a narrow stairway to get up. The front desk, lockers, and showers are on the 3rd floor, where they provide you with a bath towel if needed. There are only 3 showers and 2 bathrooms, so expect to wait. The showers and locker area are co-ed, so be sure to change in the shower room before coming out. There's an open vanity area by the lockers to get ready afterwards. The studio is upstairs, where phones aren't allowed, since it's a heated room. Thankfully, the room isn't as hot as some other heated studios l've been to. Mat + towel combo for rental is $9, but the fee is waived if it's your first class. Before you enter the heated room, you're instructed to take a set of 3lb weights, a resistance band, and ankle weights. Depending on the class, you'll also take a yoga block. Their Sculpt class has a short stretch portion for cool down and no cardio (like CorePower). Only downside l'd say is that there are no mirrors to check your form and they turn off the lights in the class, but that's their brand. Overall, I had a good sweat + would return for another heated sculpt class!

I really enjoy coming to this studio. The workouts are great but more importantly it’s kept clean and bathrooms and showers are always stocked. I’ve tried other hot yoga studios around the city and this one’s the cleanest I’ve been to.

As others have been talking about, the showers are visible from the check in. As I checked in I literally saw someone flow everywhere out of the showers. They also made me buy this overpriced uniform for the flow nation

Amazing experience from beginning to end. Clean, well-designed studio with a high-energy vibe. The teacher brought the perfect blend of challenge and support. She even gave me some specific advice after class, which was super helpful. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed Y7!

What should beginners know before bringing their friends to Y7 Studio Flatiron?

For friends new to yoga or unfamiliar with Y7’s style, it’s important to understand the studio’s distinct approach so everyone has a great experience. Y7 classes are not typically beginner-friendly due to their athletic and sweaty nature, especially the "We Flow Hard" sessions that require some familiarity with yoga poses and flows. The studio’s yoga format includes self-guided segments, which may surprise those accustomed to fully instructor-led classes; this means some participants flow on their own rhythm once the basics are taught. The room is heated and candlelit, creating an inviting ambiance but also raising the intensity of physical effort, so new practitioners should be prepared for a challenging workout. While the dark environment reduces social anxiety—which is a plus for shy practitioners—it also requires paying close attention to instructor cues and being comfortable moving independently. Additionally, there are no shower facilities onsite, so planning accordingly is wise if your group wants to freshen up afterwards. Overall, new attendees benefit from arriving with a basic yoga understanding or attending with an experienced friend from the group who can offer some guidance through the class structure.

Music is not just background but a cornerstone of the experience, with playlists carefully curated to match the mood of the class and keep energy levels high—this often includes contemporary hip-hop and R&B tracks. The combination of lighting and music creates a communal yet personal vibe, allowing friends to share a collective energy while still practicing at their own pace. This enhances group bonding by encouraging presence and flow rather than competition or comparison. Post-class, the cozy atmosphere facilitates lingering conversations and social connection, transforming the studio from a mere workout spot into a social hub for wellness-centered meetups.
