I feel like this is a hidden gem. The regulars here know the staff and keep coming back year after year. There’s a great swimming pool here for lap swims, a nice event center, a lot of child development classes and some awesome annual events like the Haunted House and the Chili Cook-off. They even have a baseball field you can rent. If you’ve been looking for a fairly priced and personable, friendly community center, I’d really recommend checking this place out. If you ask the staff nicely they might bring out the little office kitten for you to pet.

Nice swimming pool, lots of open ground to play sports or walk your dog. Basketball court, baseball field, and batting cage. Main downside is that hours of the center are nearly impossible to use for working people as everything is 9-5. They should add a swing and/or early morning shift.

Went to the haunted hayride event tonight. I just want to say, everyone put on a great show. I was not expecting for me and my kids to be screaming in the haunted house but we did. We even had to ask to escape at the very end because it was so intense. Good job everyone. So worth the money.

The Ahwatukee Community Garden is located on their property in the Northwest section near the golf course, basketball courts, and tennis courts. They have graciously allowed the community garden to develop that area and pay for the water for the garden. The public is welcome to come to the garden every Sunday morning from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the summer and from 8 o'clock to 9:30 a.m. from October 1st through May 1st. Newbies are welcome to show up and ask the master gardeners any questions about gardening in the desert. You can even take home some of that day's harvests after helping with some garden tasks. The farmers market is held in their parking lot every Sunday year around to attend after gardening.
