Chaos Bloom is a fun, eclectic community-based theater on S. Broadway. So many great improv shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday! My favorite is when the performers take one or two lousy date stories from the audience and do a set based on that. I also love the standup nights and musical improv shows. I’ve taken quite a few classes too, and the entire community is so warm and welcoming, and I feel very comfortable as a beginner. The owners have built something truly beautiful here for us in Denver!

I came here because my boss paid me to take a class so I would learn how to listen better. I stayed for the friends, the laughs, and the opportunity to perform. Each class I’ve taken I’ve made the most supportive friendships, and gotten much better at the craft. They definitely meet you where you’re at and strive to put on great shows each night!

"In January we booked a show there. One week before I get an email saying they took us off the bill and they blamed another troupe. That got worked out and we ended up performing but there it was more confusing and stressful than it needed to be. We had another show booked in February where they told us at the door, right before the show started and after they had sold tickets to our community that we were no longer on the bill. This time they blamed me. They wasted a lot of people's time and stole money from my community. I have been on improv troupes since 2010 in Denver. Chaos Bloom is anathema to the olde guard. The only thing funny that ever happens at chaos bloom is watching them try and run a theatre. It's genuinely a fun space, atmospherically. I wish the staff were emotionally and intellectually mature enough to actually run a theatre." The above is what I wrote here 9 months ago. You can probably read the vitriol. What I said is true and I have receipts, witnesses and other little horror stories from that period. I was very upset. It was a very negative experience. In the theater's response they reference a mean email. That's entirely true. There are some lies the theatre has spread, but that happened. I sent a very mean email that I regret sending now. Chaos Bloom hurt a lot of people in my community and I got emotional. The incident detailed in the review above was just the last straw for me. I've changed my rating because even though I do think they should do better and I don't like UCB style, I don't get any joy from the occasional "10 people found your review helpful" notification. Infighting between improv communities is silly. We had a bad experience, but there is good work being done by them and their actors. I do apologize to the owner for my mean emails and I'll aim to lead with kindness going forward, whatever the situation. I hope Chaos Bloom will consider reaching out to Sandlot and that there's more collaboration we can do in the future. If that happens, I'll change my rating to 5 stars and encourage other members of my community who felt hurt by Chaos Bloom's actions to change theirs. One more thing. We've had the opportunity to play with Chaos Bloom teams and they are funny. I don't like the style... But their funny. So there's a correction from my original review.
