If you’ve been thinking about taking a class, do it! You won’t regret it. I’ve taken two beginners’ classes with Kathy and one with Rose. Both were excellent teachers—kind, thoughtful, and very supportive. Each week, class begins with a demonstration, providing super insightful knowledge about the ceramics! They also provide one-on-one help, helping me improve my technique. It was incredibly freeing to play with clay and transform it into actual creations! The location is great, with lots of good food nearby. I highly recommend stopping by Soul & Smoke downstairs or grabbing a cocktail at Ludlow Liquors!

It was been a joy to both take classes and use the studio independently at Chicago Ceramic Center. After trying several studios around the city, I think CCC is Chicago pottery’s best kept secret. The location is perfect (a block off of the north side riverwalk), the teachers are welcoming and friendly, the pricing is fair, and the space is great. They are really generous with studio time and the length of classes are great (lots of 8 week options).

After taking an intermediate class, I enjoyed the studio so much that i continued with independent study. It is a beautiful open space with high ceilings, clean! with lots of wheels, multiple sinks and separate glazing room. Easy access and very friendly staff. it is my happy place!
