I had a great experience at Carmichael’s shop today. The shop has recently moved. During my 30 minute visit for a chain replacement (which i didn’t expect to be administered on the spot), I met two customers that spoke volumes of their experience at the previous location. I had to adjust the front brake and got my two tires air pumped for free. Thank you, sir! And I asked if I need to replace the front brake, it will cost $15, which is much cheaper than the 35th Bike shop, which offered me $40.
The only one Forever
We have been looking to purchase a bike forever. We decided to try to shop local and wanted to find a small business to put our dollar into. We went to this shop. Read the instructions on the sign. Rang the correct bell (the one to the right) then we waited outside. We looked in the window. It’s messy but we gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought. Wow! We can’t wait to look inside. We waited a few minutes. Then we decided to ring the bell one more time. Maybe they didn’t hear us. So again we rang the CORRRECT bell. We then waited again. Patiently. My partner was starting to get a little suspicious so I said Hey. Maybe they are busy! Let’s try calling. We called. Someone answered right away. I said Hi! We are outside trying to answer the shop! He said Are you at this location? I said yes. He then stated This address ? (says address) Me : Yes. Him: Did you ring the bell? Me: yes Him: did you ring the right bell? Me: yes…we did…. Him: *grunts* I’ll be right there We left. If this is the kind of energy we get before even entering the shop? No thank you! Best of luck to you sir!

The man at the shop was incredibly rude and condescending. I went in to change my tire tubes and when I asked if I could possibly get new tubes installed I was immediately questioned with a "WHY!?" because my bike could "probably do with just adding air!" I let him know I had just put air and already had them flat on the ride over to the shop. The man told me he had three people in front of me and with air quotes said "are you one of those 'I'm doing the triathlon' people?" I said no I just need new tubes and asked if he would be able to change the them, he rolled his eyes and said he could put air in them bc they didnt need to be changed and he had 3 others in the shop. He didnt bother looking at them or testing the tubes. Of course I turned it down and was able to get it immediately changed at another nearby shop. Unfortunately, I wasn't suprised when the man behind me was greeted with a friendly "hello what can I do for you today?"...
