We had an excellent time with Jeff on the Mt St Helen’s tour. He is a true historian on the topic and went above and beyond to provide a great experience. I’ll definitely book with Jeff again.

Jeff was a great tour guide and very customer service oriented. He called after I made the booking (to advise of a road closure) and he called the day before (to confirm the weather). We toured with 2 older seniors and he was helpful with getting them in and out of the van. He was quite knowledgeable about the surrounding area and it was clear that this was a life passion. He offered different stopping points and pointed out points of interests along the way. I would highly recommend.

Jeff was very knowledgeable about Portland and the surrounding areas. He filled our Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls/Mount Hood Loop Tour in April 2025 with interesting stories and facts including visual aides. Jeff was very personal and accommodating to our personal requests doing everything he could to make our day a tremendous experience. I will book Jeff again if I am back in the area, and I highly recommend this tour if you want to see Mother Nature at her best.

I am SO glad we found EcoTours of Oregon for our recent trip to Portland! Jeff was such a great tour guide and his passion for the areas we visited really came through which added to the experience. On our recent trip my husband and I had the opportunity to join for both his Winery Tour in the Willamette Valley Countryside as well as the Mount Saint Helen’s Volcano Tour and loved both of them. Jeff is such a down to earth guy and SO knowledgeable. The tours are kept small, which helps to make them more personal and Jeff was more than happy to answer any questions we had throughout the day. It was clear Jeff has gotten to know the owners of the wineries on a personal level over the years so we were treated well at them as a result and it was nice not having to deal with making reservations at the various wineries. We got to see a nice variety of wineries, learned a lot about the area in the process, and enjoyed a relaxing day because of Jeff handling the details. The Mount Saint Helen’s tour was fascinating! Jeff shared many pictures during the ride to and from the volcano, including audio recordings from the day of the major eruption and interviews of people who had survived the blast, which really helped to make us feel like we were getting a first hand encounter while driving through the same areas being discussed. Jeff also brought along telescopes so he could point out really unique features of the volcano and grazing elks far in the distance that we never would have seen otherwise. Super cool!! Fortunately we lucked out with spectacular weather and viewing conditions but it was nice to know he was willing to adjust the timing and order of events for the day if needed to make sure we had the best possible view of the volcano. Overall we loved both of these tours and can’t say enough good things about Jeff. We highly recommend EcoTours to anyone who has the opportunity to do some day trips from the Portland area. EcoTours offers several other tours in addition to the ones we did and I have no doubt they would all be equally great. Thank you, Jeff, for showing us the beauty of the Northwest!

10/10 day in Oregon! Jeff was an amazing tour guide, he really took care to study and share what our group would be most interested in. If you enjoy learning about earthquakes, volcanoes, waterfalls, vistas, geological and anthropological history, topping it off with a master class on Oregon Pinot Noir, then this is where you belong!
