I went to make a return Dec 10th 2024 at approximately 6p. The manager employee 785 in this store did not know how to do an online return. She was flustered and took her frustrations out on me by insulting my intelligence and talking to me reckless. I had patience, remained calm and even asked if she could call customer service to get help. Anytime I said anything which included mentioning being able to provide a receipt, she said I was causing a scene. At no time was I aggressive nor did I use any curse words. She could not even have a constructive conversation with me to figure out a resolution. Instead she chose to call security. Very unprofessional and uncalled for. I have never been treated so badly in my life. The was another employee there who saw it all. An investigation needs to be done with security tapes pulled. This experience has definitely left me with a negative impression of Express. I have some of this horrible experience on video. I definitely feel like I was discriminated against.

Today was the 2nd time I had gone into this location at City Creek and both times Mateo was there and he gave me a very genuine “hello” and he took the time to shop around with me. I felt like I had my friend there, helping to find something flashy and badass and it was fun. When I asked for the fitting room, Mateo let me in and he asked what my name is. He called me by my name the rest of my time there! I really felt appreciated and comfortable shopping there. So true story is, I actually only went there to exchange 4 items, but with Mateo’s help, I also ended up spending $91 more dollars. Yes, I’ve read the hate comments about Mateo here in these reviews, but guys I just don’t see it. Mateo is extremely kind and caring and he’s glad when customers are there. Mateo my dude, you are killin’ it! Take all of the positive comments about you here, and keep your chin up! Sure appreciate you and your service!
