I’ve been coming to this LA Fitness for almost two years, and I’m absolutely livid right now. This place is super close to my house and has all the equipment I need, and most of the staff are great, but that doesn’t excuse what happened today. I go to shower after my workout, forget my sandals, and step on a freaking bloody needle in the shower! Are you kidding me?! As someone who works with and studies bloodborne pathogens, this is beyond disgusting, it’s straight-up dangerous! The cap was on, so it didn’t break my skin, but that’s not the point. I shouldn’t be dodging needles in a gym I’m paying to use! The locker rooms here have always been a filthy, grimy mess, unchanged for days, maybe weeks, and it’s unacceptable. I told the front desk, and the guy apologized and handled it quickly, but that’s not enough. Why am I paying for a membership when I’m risking my health just taking a shower? They just splurged on a shiny new Pilates room, but can’t be bothered to scrub the locker rooms? What kind of priorities are those?! This is a massive wake-up call, and if they don’t get their act together and start cleaning properly, I’m done with this place. This is ridiculous and dangerous!

After long and careful consideration I chose LA Fitness and this location. Even knowing that cars get broken into and there is literally human poop on the sidewalk, I decided on this location. The representative who was working to enroll me was extremely rude. Being passive aggressive is a horrible way to try and get my money. After this, LA Fitness will never be my choice and I do my best to convince anyone not to waste their money on horrible people who are going to disrespect you.

Building is too hot, it's like working out in a sauna on the top floor. Not enough wipes stations for cleaning equipment Locker room is dirty No deadlift platforms, you'll have to steal a barbell from a bench or squat machine to deadlift Many of the machines don't allow a full range of motion which is pretty typical for a commercial gym

It’s an alright gym but it has some considerable flaws. What is good is that overall variety of machines and its quality is good. Except the problem with benches explained below. What is not good: First and the biggest one is air conditioning. It’s usually something between atrocious and barely acceptable. But mostly it is hot inside and the worst of it is that there is zero air flow. Sometimes it’s literally NO AIR to breathe. Like in a microwave from which there is no escape. Even when the weather is not hot - there is no air flow inside. The worst situation with AC is at the basketball court. Second is their benches variety. All of their benches except 1 are unadjustable and that’s a bummer. 2 flat, 2 inclined and 2 90deg. So if you need an inclined bench, you need to wait till one of their 2 inclined benches will be unoccupied. During rush hours it’s mission impossible. Third - water in faucets are always either very warm or boiling hot. It’s probably good for showers but combine it with very warm temperatures at gym and it will be very unpleasant. Fourth - the only area that is more or less geared up for functional training is closed for private trainings only. I can’t understand why.

Overall, I love this gym! But the reason the entire place keeps getting complaints about how hot it is, it's not the air conditioner, it's the fact that the bathrooms/locker rooms/pool and spa areas aren't physically blocked in! So the humidity from the showers, pool, spa, showers escapes into the ENTIRE gym! They need to put doors in and lock in the humidity from the pool, spa, locker rooms and it wouldn't be so hot in there!
