Traveller from the UK here. Singles are priced okay. Felt they were fair. Sealed is a bit all over the place. $5 for Innistrad Play Booster, not bad. $30 for an Aetherdrift PreRelease, not bad. $34 for Innistrad Remastered Collector Booster - bit over the top. Staff seemed an average amount of polite. However, zero interest/knowledge in the product or helping with advice/anything on top. So a bit of a flat experience. Loads of selection of sealed from the last 12 months. A couple of shelves of singles and some proper nice dual lands in a cabinet. But overall, 3 stars.

I first started going to Montasy Comics when they had their Forest Hills location nearly 15 years ago. It was the very first comic shop I ever visited, and I always carried warm memories of that experience. This community is close-knit, and I would often share my positive experiences with others, even though I didn’t visit the Manhattan store often. Unfortunately, I can no longer say the same. The employees at their booth at Anime NYC were incredibly rude and dismissive, making me feel like I was a burden just for being there. After so many years of associating Montasy with great memories, it’s really disappointing to see how poorly they treated customers.

I really try my best not to rate locally owned businesses poorly. The staff is super helpful, but I’ve made multiple attempts to buy TCG, but they gouge pretty hard (I’ve seen it as bad as 3x the suggested price). Definitely don’t take their pricing at face value. There are other stores in the city that try a lot harder to competitively price themselves.

Gives off a mom and pop shop vibe. Staff was friendly enough. However, I do agree with other reviewers that they don’t seem to be extremely knowledgeable of all their products, but that is ok. Just adds time to transaction. Saw lots of players at the tables, which to me is always a good sign for a card store. Some of their products prices are a little higher than average, but that is unfortunately more common now with cards shops in general. Final Verdict: Would recommend. Worth a stop if on the way or a huge card collector. Also for new releases.
