Cool little spot for movie lovers. Absolutely loved walking into the smell of fresh popcorn, it definitely makes me want to stock up on DVD rentals for a movie night at home. I came in to do a quick tour of the movie props exhibit, and was pleasantly surprised by the in-store theater! Will definitely be back for a weekday viewing.

Awesome old-school video rental store. The way this place is set up and categorized is so satisfying. There's more options here than on any streaming service. The organization makes it easy to find something for anyone. My favorite section was cult classics arranged by director and some by prolific actors in that genre. They have Hollywood memorabilia such as clothing and other props on display around the store. Definitely a place for movie lovers to check out.

What practical considerations should groups keep in mind when planning a visit?

Groups planning a meetup at Movie Madness Video should consider a few practical details to maximize their experience. First, the store’s hours vary slightly during the week and weekends, so scheduling your visit accordingly will ensure you have ample time to explore. Remember that the shop is closed on major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

While the vast library is impressive, certain rare or “out of print” titles require customers to have an established rental history, ensuring fair access to these prized items; groups interested in these exclusive films should plan accordingly. Renting movies is the primary service, as the store does not sell new titles, though there are occasional sales of used inventory that may interest collectors within your group.

Since the experience can involve prolonged browsing or participation in special events, planning for breaks or coordinating with nearby eateries can enhance the day. The Sunnyside neighborhood offers plenty of dining options to extend your outing.

Lastly, for larger groups interested in special events or private gatherings, contacting Movie Madness in advance can provide information on accommodations or upcoming programs that might suit your needs.

By gathering at Movie Madness Video, your friends or family can share a multifaceted film experience rich with entertainment, history, and community spirit. The unbeatable combination of a vast physical movie library, a captivating museum, expert staff, and engaging events makes it a perfect venue for memorable meetups.
