This Petco is truly amazing! The staff genuinely care about their clients and the needs of the animals. One thing I really appreciate is the consistency—there’s never a big turnaround. It’s always the same friendly faces who’ve been there for a while, which creates such a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. When there are new employees, the existing staff do a great job introducing them, so I still feel comfortable and recognized every time I come in. The store is always clean, organized, and easy to navigate. If there’s ever something they can’t help with directly, they always have great recommendations. Groomer instantly refused my dog because my dog was nervous, which I understood for safety reasons but the part I didn’t like was when she lied and said my dog was “too matted to be groomed anyways” and needed a medical blade on her ears but soon as I took her to the Petco in North Riverside the groomer laughed at the story and said “she just didn’t want to service you”& they serviced her with NO PROBLEM, also her ears didn’t need a “medical blade”. I forgot the lady name at you’ll location but she had a short haircut & with holes on her earlobes(I think). Furthermore, please hire better groomers that are HIGHLY EXPERIENCED & PATIENT because my dog wasn’t aggressive, growling nor barking at all just a little nervous because she knows she only go to the pet store for grooming or vaccinations, she hates seeing any Petco employee until she realizes the services that’s being provided, my dog even allowed the groomer to touch her a few times but out of nervousness kept jumping at the groomer.

The workers were extremely respectful BUT I left my daughter at Petco to wait for the dog to finish getting groomed just for them to tell me a Parent had to be there for her to get the dog back. Understandable but the workers did not mention that to me when I told them I was leaving and I paid before I left. I did have to call up there for them to let her leave with the dog. Other than that good service

I'm giving three stars instead of one because the associates were so nice. I use a cane to get around. I bought a 28lb of dog food and had to carry because they didn't have any shopping carts. The cashier was wonderful and associate Michael carried it out to my car. Ya gotta have shopping carts for your customers
