Finally, sunny days are here! We visited this park today, and we are happy with it. It has a great variety of installations on the playground for kids of different ages. There is a basketball court, a small area with benches and tables and also a big field. At the end of the field, there is a bbq corner. Overall I am very pleased. Only negative thing is that the bathrooms are out of service 😒

This is a beautiful, large, and clean park with many kids’ playgrounds, seats, and a restroom. This park has spaces for unleashed dogs and a fitting area. The neighborhood should be proud of this awesome park and they take care of it seriously. I highly recommend it to anyone

This a big beautiful park with all the offerings. A large field, basketball court, play sets for the kids to climb, & benches to sit & talk on sunny days. Right on the main stretch of MLK way, the city has temporarily cleaned out the park of RV's & tents for now but as soon as the dates expire for no parking dates, the RV's will undoubtedly come back to litter this beautiful shared neighborhood area. For now, people can enjoy the amenities. When I was there, Parks & Rec were there picking up the trash. There are public restrooms available & pets are welcome as long as they are on leash & watched after. Kids fill this playspace & that's great to see. Midas 5-stars for a neighborhood playground for everyone.

The park’s origins date back to being a junior high school athletic field in the mid-20th century before evolving into the vibrant community space it is today. Over time, it has seen community-driven improvements, including playground renovations and the addition of structures reflecting its cultural richness. This historical connection offers meetups an added layer of meaning, tying present-day fun to the neighborhood’s heritage. A small museum near the park further preserves and shares the story of notable local figures like Seattle musicians, enhancing visitors’ appreciation of the park’s place in Seattle’s broader cultural tapestry. The basketball court links visitors to Seattle’s sports culture, with the Sonics emblem inspiring local pride. The fitness zone adds an uncommon but important dimension for adult visitors looking to stay active while socializing. The park’s manageable size in an urban setting means it doesn’t get overwhelmingly large, yet it offers enough space to avoid crowding, beneficial for group games or picnics. Additionally, the park’s recent revitalizations, including a makeover partly sponsored by local businesses, keep the space inviting and safe. Reviews by visitors highlight its cleanliness, upkeep, and well-lit paths, making it a reliable and comfortable meeting spot. The nearby residential ambiance contributes a peaceful quality that’s rare in more commercial or tourist-heavy parks.

Organize some friendly sports matches using the basketball court or playing frisbee on the fields, allowing a chance for everyone to participate and bond.
