I was a little irritated at first because the server had me waiting about 10-15mins. However, Food was fresh and came quick. We got the bbq mahi tacos and the Bangkok shrimp tacos. Both were delicious and filling. The guacamole was fresh. We also had the sangrita with island sangria. You can taste the alcohol which is always a plus! I will be back!

Our favorite Mexican food in all of NC! Stars of the show here for us are the Carne Asada tacos, Classic Fish Tacos, Chicken and Poblano Chowder, and the Cabo Burger. You can’t go wrong with any of these options and so many more. What really makes this restaurant a local gem though is the staff. The owners are very involved and take a lot of pride in their business and customer satisfaction. Every single waiter or waitress we’ve ever had has been friendly, helpful, and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience eating here. The last thing I’ll add is that Salt and Lime Cabo Grill is consistently good. I’ve been plenty of places and enjoyed their steak tacos but not everyone can nail it 100% of the time. I swear though about several dozen trips to this restaurant, they nail is every. single. time!

On Friday night, six of us visited Salt & Lime Cabo Grill at 6:30 PM, ready for a fun dinner out. We were quoted a 25-minute wait, which wasn’t a hassle at all thanks to their handy text updates keeping us in the loop. While we waited, we grabbed a spot at the bar and enjoyed some Cadillac margaritas and Modelos. The bartender was super friendly, and the drinks hit the spot—strong, refreshing, and well-made. Once seated, we dove into a feast: chips and guac, a Surf’n’Turf burrito, ceviche, carne asada fajitas, salmon tacos, and a variety of other drinks to round it out. Every dish was a winner—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The guac was creamy and zesty, the burrito was packed with bold surf-and-turf goodness, and the ceviche brought a bright, tangy kick. The fajitas sizzled with juicy carne asada, and the salmon tacos were a deliciously light yet satisfying option. Our waitress, Alandra, was fantastic—attentive, warm, and on top of everything, making the whole experience even better. The only sour note? We weren’t informed that parties of six or more come with an automatic 20% gratuity. It’s a fair policy, but it absolutely should’ve been mentioned upfront by the server. Finding it tacked onto the bill only after an extra tip was left without a heads-up left a slight sting on an otherwise stellar night. That hiccup aside, Salt & Lime Cabo Grill delivered a fantastic dinner. The food was incredible, the service (gratuity surprise notwithstanding) was top-notch, and the vibe was just right for a lively group outing. We had a blast and would definitely go back—just with a mental note to double-check the fine print next time!

We recently grabbed lunch here for the first time, but have been enjoying dinners here since we discovered it about a year ago. We’ve tried to sample at least a couple new things each visit, sometimes an appetizer or salsa, sometimes a different main dish. While we have some favorites, we’ve really enjoyed everything. Salt & Lime has become a regular haunt for us.
